What is your favorite World Series that you had no vested interest in?

I don't even know if I was a twinkle in the fat man's eye at the time, but 1960 is mine. The Pirates get outscored by 4 runs per game average, but still manage to win 4 out of 7.

Also love LA/OAK in 88 and TOR/PHI in 93.

That series had everything: a team in its 4th year against the 3 time defending champs, right after 9/11. Back to back nights with the Yankees tying the game with 2 outs in the 9th off BK Kim. And just when you think the Yankees had it in the bag leading Game 7 in the 9th with the GOAT closer on the mound, Arizona mounts a comeback and their best hitter gets the walkoff single.

ETA: The bitter part of that answer for me is that I'm a Mariner fan and still am pissed we weren't playing in that series that year after the season we had

Cubs NLCS
Most sports fans would love to see Cubs in World Series just because it's been so long.

As a long Astros follower, it was nice to see them make a World Series

I could not watch the 97 Series after the ALCS. Too painful, so I'll go with the 91 Series, which was awesome.

97 or 2002. I'd say 2001, but the Big Unit was my favorite player and everyone who wasn't a Yankees fan was cheering for the DBacks.

1990 Reds vs. A's.

I really have no idea why. Probably because it is one of maybe 2 or 3 that I have watched in it's entirety.
