After formally being named last week as the newest member of MidSouth Bank’s board of directors, retired NFL quarterback and former UL Lafayette standout Jake Delhomme appeared Thursday morning on Fox Business Network’s “Markets Now” to discuss life after the pros.

“I was a rookie free agent so it’s not like I had tons of money tossed at me,” explained Delhomme, adding one valuable lesson he took from his time as a pro was “save your money ... because that windfall of money will not be there for the rest of your life.”

Just a head's up if you're a MidSouth customer. Might watch out for those financial fumbles.

Talked to Jake the other night at the ULL football game. He's been in Lafayette since the 2011 season ended.

I'm positive that if he were to do that to Drew, he wouldn't make it to the locker room.

He spends most his time messing with race horses.

Damn he's still getting paid from past contracts? I always liked him during his brief stint with the Saints and as long as he wasn't playing them so good to see he's doing better then some retired players.

Remember when a-hole wouldn't play him a down when Brooks was hurt and all we needed was 1 win out of the last 4 games to get into the playoffs.

It was a turning point in the Haslett era. Winning the division in 2000 to start really earned him more "leash" than he should have had. Subtract that and he was 35-45 as HC. He followed up the 2005 3-13 with a 2-10 in STL before being fired.

Yep.
It was pure ignorance, mixed with a heaping helping of narcissism.

If he did that to Drew in the Dome there would be a couple thousand Saints fans beating that brothers arse.

You need crazy guys like Kyle Turley on the team just in case someone takes a cheap shot on your QB.
