I remember they tried to penalize the Saints one year because the Superdome crowd was being too loud. It was a pretty stupid rule.

It was a game against the Giants and Phil Simms was the QB. He would get under center and ten step out pointing at his ears. I think the red did penalize the Saints.

I'm pretty sure it used to be a rule that the crowd couldn't be so loud as to keep the visiting team from hearing calls at the line.
