a recurring point on here is that we continue to leave mett in after the game is decided.

my question, hopefully to be answered by savy fans with some experience, is exactly how is this done w/o letting the other team back in the game?

it seems to me just having #2 come in and hand the ball off does little good. so, meaningful snaps should include some passes and decision making on the qb's part.

risk vs reward: pick 6's can destroy a young guys confidence. and certainly he would have to be pulled immediately after one unless we had at least a 3 td lead.

I thought of that too. Question is; who comes in plays mop up duty for some PT?

Rivers, Rettig or Jennings? I imagine Rettig will RS.

It's like they want to keep the drama for the off season. We'll need something to talk about.

It's called Furman. Mett shouldn't see the field after halftime. AJ should start and play the entire second half. That's would be a start.

I believe if something were to happen to Mett, Rettig would be the go to guy. Outside of that, he will redshirt. If they are going to let someone do mop up duty, I would guess it would be Rivers.

you may have hit on why jennings has come in earlier in the year. he didn't want to RS and since he can run his chances of fricking the game up were minimal. ie, it may not mean he won the #2 job. on paper, Rettig should be very much in the picture as our QB of the future (along with jennings also).

Anthony Jennings WILL be a stud! You do not have kids like this very often. He has already established himself as the #2 man and I think will be a Tiger great!

i know he's a rant favorite but the rant always thinks the guy on the bench is the guy. not saying you are but how do you really know jennings is better than rettig? weren't both very highly rated in high school? after all, they are both still maturing and we do have a true qb teacher now.

You're right, no one knows yet, but I've seen this kid play in multiple HS games and spring/fall ball here. He has only thrown one pass in a game as a tiger so far, but you watch his mechanics/vision/arm strength, he is VERY special. I trust my gut and the coaches on this one. They see something as well or he would not be our #2 guy over Rivers/Rettig.

good to know and i most certainly value your opinion since you have witnessed him in these situations, esp the spring and fall ball here part.

just like i was stunned and worried after our damn defense went to the nfl last year it looks like our offense is going this year. and OL and a QB are essential if we are going to compete.

This, this and this. With a little Furman sprinkled in.

We have Cam. I ain't worried. Cam is like The Wolf from Pulp Fiction.

If we land Speedy Noil, Dupre, or Dhaquille we will be legit on offense next season. I have no doubt Leonard Fournette comes here, and he and Magee will make a nice tandem in the backfield. We still have a viable pass blocker at FB after Copeland and Cam Cameron will have Jennings ready to go.
