When grocery shopping, do you use a reusable bag?

Why or why not?
Personally, I do.
If I don't have a reusable bag in the store with me, I usually ask them to not bag it. Nine times out of ten, I have a bag in my car that I can just put it in. Seems kind of silly to me to continue to get plastic bags when all they do is pile up in my cabinet.
The bag only serves it's purpose for ~30 minutes then it's of no use. Just a means of transportation for your groceries. Not to mention, more stuff fits (more comfortably) in the useable bags. They are also easier to carry.
And I know you don't want to hear it, but by reusing bags you are saving the planet.
You also save 10 cents at some locations (Whole Foods being one).

To be honest, I have 20+ reusable bags. If I'm in a store that carries them and I don't have mine, I will buy a new one (99 cents usually) before I use the plastic ones. Plus, some of them are so dang cute I just can't pass them up.
These bags obviously aren't limited to groceries, but it's what I mostly what I use them for. I also wanted an excuse to stay away from the OT with this topic. There are some documentaries floating around on plastic as well - netflix has one.

Paper for me, been that way my entire life. My pops has worked in the paper mill industry for 30 years .. folks always taught me that we were helping our family out by using paper bags instead of plastic.
I do most of my grocery shopping @ Rouses here in Nola, which offers paper .. which I request 100% of the time.

pretty much all plastic cause that's the grocery store standard and I don't care either way to request my groceries be bagged in paper.
I then throw the plastic bags away when I have too many.

I have a bunch of reusable but normally forget them at home. I also forget to request paper. But I do recycle my plastic ones as small trash bags in my bathroom trash can.

Nope, because I use the plastic bags for small trash can bags or to clean the cat litter boxes.

I would use paper if offered. Never offered to me at Calandros.
I support paper mills & timber induatry, they are all over rural central/north la.... Where i beez from.
That said, I use the small plastic bags for more purposes than the OP's "used for ~ 30 minutes then useless" comment

I live in Austin, where plastic bags have been banned. So, reusable for me. I'm cool with it.

This seems like a pretty large window to me.
I try to remember those bags, but hardly ever do. Maybe they could come up with some sort of kiosk to trade in a ton at a time and get some credits. That way when I forget I can just use my credit and try to bring back the stack I have at the house later.
Also, reusable bag nazi, do you also use handkerchiefs instead of kleenex and no paper towels?

Depends what store I'm going to. I prefer them. It's easier to haul 5-6 of them rather than a dozen plastic bags.

Why? Since studying the philosophy of Deep Ecology (sometimes called The Ethic) for 20 years I realized early on that environmentalism is a form of brain washing and has no effect on the environment.
Also... RB are full of bacteria. Not healthy.
I use paper. Easy to pack if you know the geometric shapes that the average 3rd grader could recognize. Also doesn't spill out like plastic when you take fast turns on the way home.

I get as many plastic bags as they will give. they are my trashcan liners in the bathrooms.
