Hootie could start immediately in this secondary.

I'm not one who thinks guys can come in and start immediately even if they're highly touted but...jesus. Garrett and Jones are probably our most important gets right now because it's the two weakest positions on defense. S and LB...especially MLB. Martin and Thompson look lost.

Who's our other S prospects for this class? Anybody else on our radar? Also, are we going to target more LBs?? I'm kinda baffled why we're not recruiting more because obviously the younger guys aren't developing if they can't put Welter on the bench(debo, phillips, feist, etc.)

We took our MLB prospect from last year and converted him to FB...unless KB is the future there.

CLM looked pissed during his halftime interview.

D recruits should be thinking about their ability to start or get significant playing time as Freshmen including Willis and Hootie

Hootie and Ed Paris will play a lot at safety

Clifton Garrett starts in the middle

Tony Brown will be the nickle or dime

We have a bunch of defenders still learning the defense and it's pretty pitiful...

I thought it was just young guys in our defense last year but they're just not talented. Simply put. Maybe that recruiting class we had during the year we made a run at the NC put us behind. Glazing over it not a lot of great talent from that class.

Gerald Willis will start on D-line too.

Willis is a lock for rotation. I don't see freak leaving. No matter what his talent is, I just don't see him grading out too well, but I don't know what the dealt talent pool is at DL this year

Freak has high mock value right now. I think he's played well considering the doubles he takes.

He doesn't initiate contact IMO...maybe what they are teaching him?

I think he's also hurt. But he played very well tonight and took advantage of some singles on him. I agree that he hasn't come close to his hype but I'm pretty sure he's graded as a 1st round pick. He's gone regardless after this season, IMO. Just going to have to get use to having young defenses like this due to rookie salary cap fricking us over now. Players have less incentive to risk injury senior year because they don't have that 30 million money difference anymore.

LSU needs to do a better job at identifying who's going to leave early and recruit guys early and develop them ready to go when they leave.

What's going to suck is Ego and Freak will probably leave early. I'm not sure what we'll have at DT next year. Locoutre(sp?) is going to be a good DT eventually though, IMO. He's pretty active for a freshman.

Those 22 men, and some special teams men as well, will compete with great enthusiasm on the field of play and represent LSU with great determination, I can tell you.

Safety play was much better.

People are over reacting. I saw blanket shots of the field, the wr's were covered pretty damn good for the most part. Robinson and white are beast.
