I'd be down if they would fix the sound problems... If they haven't figured it out by now it's not looking good.

I think some people are getting carried away with this. I saw Empire on opening night and had a great time. There's so much more to a live show than recording studio-quality audio.

It doesn't need to sound like a recording studio... It needs to have a balanced mix.

If I can't hear the vocalists when the rest of the band is playing it's a problem.

If you enjoy shows that sound like shite more power to you.

Sorry you'll be missing some great shows featuring some of your favorite artists.

But I guess you win?

Have to agree with shutterspeed. Think the sound thing is pretty picky.

I've been to 3 shows and have heard vocals quite well. Actually went to each floor for a few songs to check it out last Wednesday.

To each his own, I guess.

There's nothing to win. The Black Crowes sounded much better at Mahalia Jackson during Jazzfest..

The room looked bad arse and has a TON of potential.

Most businesses have issues right when they open. The venue's sound problem / brightness is the only problems I noticed

I hope they fix them. I'd love to ENJOY some live music there.

btw, none of my favorite artists are playing there yet...

Biggest show on the calendar is by far Neutral Milk Hotel. Their first appearence in NOLA since 1999 I believe.

I have tickets to night two.

If they don't have the sound fixed by February we're going to have problems.

Yeah, that was a great show. But certain songs like "King of Carrot Flowers Pts 2 & 3" and especially "Holland,1945" will greatly benefit from having a full band as opposed to a solo acoustic Magnum.
