@RapSheet: Source: #Giants agree on a trade for #Panthers LB Jon Beason, contingent on passing a physical. He's flying to NY tomorrow to take it
Looks like they want to make a run only two games back.

Let me guess, Carolina will get somebody Cam can't use.

How the hell did the panthers find someone to take his monster contract

What are the Giants giving up?

@RVacchianoNYDN: I'm told the Giants will send a late-round pick to the Panthers (and old friend Dave Gettleman) in return for Beason. #NYG

FOX's Jay Glazer reports the Panthers are discussing a trade that would send LB Jon Beason to the Giants. Beason was benched for Week 3, which was ironically Carolina's blowout win over the Giants. Returning from microfracture surgery, Beason was not effective in a part-time role in Weeks 1-2. He's appeared in just eight games since the end of the 2010 season. He'd be a minimal upgrade for New York's barely-there linebacker corps despite his Pro-Bowl pedigree.

Wow. That's pretty shocking. I guess they figure Keuchly can take over the middle, but someone with his talent I feel like he could easily step in at OLB

They play Washington and Philly twice, Minnesota, Oakland and Dallas at home. Those are all winnable games especially only being two games out. I'm not predicting they win all of them but theh have a shot to do it.

I know I'm just laughing because it sounds funny that an 0-4 team is trying to make a run at the division.

Pretty sure Kuechly has been the middle linebacker since day 1
And Beason hasnt been the same since all his injuries

He was my favorite defensive player in Madden 3-4 years ago. Not so much anymore

Luke Keuchly started out on the outside, and transitioned to the middle.

Ever since Beason was out last year, Keuchly was in the middle. And hes great.

Not talking about Carolina.

Have you seen the giants lately? I don't think horrendous even comes close to what they are. I actually think Denver took it easy on them.

A late round pick I'm hoping means 7th round lol. Someone who couldn't crack the panthers starting rotation might not be long in the NFL.

There is no money left on the contract after this year, they reworked the deal over the summer. Carolina took on a lot of dead money this season.
