What's your plan for when you get Ridley? Start him every week? Spot play him? Stash him in case he turns it on? This is exactly why I have always been low on Ridley - nothing is black and white in that backfield. Not telling you not to do it, just wondering your expectations. I'd do it as nothing more than a stash, assuming you think Amendola somehow stays on the field this year for any stretch.

I'd go with it.

Julian Edleman's role will lessen when Danny Amendola and Rob Gronk come back from injury. Steven Ridley has been nothing special on the ground this season, but at least he's still a #1 option.

Gives me another option in a weak RB core. Lacy is coming off a concussion and Jackson is still out. Edelman doesn't have a lot of value to me. He isn't good enough to trade straight up for a #2 RB (which I need), and he isn't good enough to start in my team.

Is he though? And Blount? Bolden? What about Vereen coming back?

I'd say so... Isn't he still considered the starter?

Will be a while.

Bolden?
No chance of him doing anything.

And Blount?
Hit or miss.

If you've already sold yourself on it, then do it.

I haven't, that's why I'm asking for advice. What kind of value am I seriously looking at with Edelman? Should I try an Edelman + Powell for a Murray or someone similar? I really want a legit #2.

Ridley (standard scoring, non PPR): 2.6, 4.0, 4.3, 7.9 points. 4.7 ppg.

Blount (same scoring): 1.5, 1.0, 6.5, 12.4 points. 5.35 ppg.

I'm trying to win, not be the best at depth charts.

If you could swing that, sure. I understand wanting to get value out of Edelman, I'm just suggesting you temper your expectations of Ridley.

I don't have high expectations of Ridley. I'm hoping I can buy low, get a good RB and then hope for some stability in that backfield once Gronk and Amendola return.

Like I said, Edelman is nothing but an occasional flex play when I have bad match ups. Him sitting on my bench wont win me shite. Neither will Ridley, but if he does happen to return to 2012 form, my lineup would look like:

Foster
Ridley
Lacy/Jackson/Powell/Boldin/Amendola
Welker
Bryant

Basically, is it worth taking a small risk on Ridley? Or should I give up more pieces for a guy like Murray or Bush?

First in my league if that means anything.

My advice to you would be this: Beef up your starters, and play the upside on the backend. If you pair Foster with a bunch of guys that could go either way, you're going to burn yourself. If you pair Foster with a solid #2, and play the upside on your bench, any spark there is bonus.
