They need to keep Javi away from the newcomers like Dean, Hale, Zardon, etc so he doesn't mess up their swings.

Cartwright got hit pretty hard Sunday. I'm not looking for him to contribute much. More of a program guy. I hope I'm wrong but that's the impression I got.

The guys on Sports Today were saying they were going to talk about a possible major change for college baseball. I'm assuming it's the seam issue. Am I correct?

Yeah. Word is flat-seam required for postseason 2015 and optional for regular season 2015. No changes for 2014.

One of the new excuses I've heard: Rawlings has an overstock of raised seamed balls.

What's the shelf life of a baseball? Does it start to go dead after a period of time?

Moisture can have an effect.

But really, I have no clue. Each ball is packaged in its own plastic bag. That protects the leather for a long time if necessary.
