The '04 unit wasn't pillaged by the draft, had a lot of talent, and proved to be a great D as the year went on. Yet, they too got blown out in Athens and probably would've been worse had the game been more competitive.

What I think we can learn from this is that it happens. Our D needs to improve and I expect us to.

UGA was so mad at us that day. So mad. They prob did a victory lap afterward. Wouldn't shock me.

and the throws greene was making were ridiculous. Webster had perfect coverage on at least 2 of those touchdowns

LSU fumbled the ball 3x, so pretty misleading point

Agreed. And there was certainly a greater "confusion factor" in play last Sat vs '04. But Murray made some impressive throws as well.

GA converted two into TD's. We also gave'em a short field on OBJ's fumble this year.

But I think my point still stands that '04 UGA would've scored even more had the game not been so lopsided. They didn't have 'the luxury' of playing pedal-to-the-metal for all four qtrs. like last week.

Its hard to believe UGA put up 45 on this Defense on '04

SLB 7 Ali Highsmith

That defense is really the 2003 championship defense minus 3 guys (Lavalais, Hill and one LB). This year's D has many more guys to work in. More of the true freshman will be worked in for depth and we'll get better as we go but this year's guys probably won't get to the levels of the 2004 team (which should not have been blown out by GA with all those elite players).
