A buddy and I were in Athens for the game this weekend, and my buddy was traveling through NC for business this week, so I stuck around for the drive to Charlotte. On our way, we took a scenic route through SC and as we were driving be both spotted a sign on the side of the road that said Furman University. We both said "Holy Crap" at the same time and we had to pull off to see the campus.

They had a small but beautiful campus, and the few we Tiger Baited had no idea what we were talking about. Regardless, we found the football field and were able to easily make it out to the 50 yard line. Would not want to play in the tiny stadium, but it was a beautiful part of the country to visit.

Thought it was interesting we "stumbled" upon the school in the year we are playing them, and thought I would share.

Here is my buddy at the 50.

Literally my high school stadium was bigger than that!

My kids play on turf and it's great, but I do like the feel of good grass. The slight imperfections and grip difference helps make the game.

The side shown is the visitors side, but the home side was not much bigger. They had just got a new press box, and a good refurb of the stadium, so conditions were excellent, albeit small. That is to be expected of a school that size

Cool road trip story!

I wish you had actually interacted with some students about whether they would be traveling to BR and their thoughts about playing the Tigers.
[Then, perhaps you could have explained Tiger bait]

Because turf is for communists and bisexual hippies.

That's why.

You should have seen the looks we got when we nailed one Furman student with a piss-bomb, threw D-batteries at his chest, and pushed him in a port-o-let and dumped it over trapping him inside!
