Would we still be so down on our run blocking and deffense? Don't get me wrong, we have big issues. We need to use this loss as a wake-up call and do what we can to correct those issues.

We wouldn't be nearly as down because winning cures a lot of things. I believe there would still be serious concern because of how poor we played defensively

First, I dont' know why anyone would be "down" on our run blocking. UGA stacked the box and blitzed all day. They exposed their secondary and we capitalized.

Second, yes, I would still be concerned about our defense. They looked slow, confused, disorganized, and unathletic. In short, they were atrocious. It was easily the worst defenseive performance since 2008. But the defense has been suspect all season, as anyone who watched the games critically could see.

The season still boils down to Texas A&M and Alabama.

We now know a little more about what those games will look like.

The A&M game will look a lot like the Georgia game maybe even higher scoring with one or two plays late deciding the outcome.

The Bama game will be close but with more scoring than we have seen in recent years.

We will give up more points to everyone else but no one else can match us offensively.

As to the defense, YES!! Anybody with any ounce of objectivity could see that the defense was having some pretty major issues leading up to this game. LBs weren't playing well in any of the 4 games prior to this, and that continued here. The DEs were losing contain in the prior games, and it happened again on the first fricking play of the game. Anthony Johnson had been a non-factor in the first 4 games, and outside of the INT, he was again a non-factor.

If LSU won the game in fashion you propose, then narrative would be "thank God ZM and the offense showed up because this defense can't stop anybody. Can the offense carry this much of the load every week?" If the final outcome was LSU-44 UGA-41 and people weren't suspect of the defense, then I would question what game they were watching?

I'm not sure I would overlook Ole Miss and Florida. Miss State might be a trap game.

LSU should win those... but ... the problem with over reliance on a passing offense is that if you have a bad QB or receiver game, you usually lose. A ground game will usually grind it out.

When Miss St. finally snaps the 13+ losing streak to LSU, I'll regard them as a potential trap.

Ole Miss is still young and I expect Auburn to beat them in a close game.

Florida is a tossup, but I still like LSU's chances.
