They bought into the ESPN/Media hype and gave Theo the keys to the franchise. They will be back in the same spot they were, when he was hired.
I don't like feeding the troll, but do you know how much talent the Cubs have stashed away in the low to medium minor league levels? A lot. A LOT.

That shows me that what they are doing, although it's not on the field yet (and is what knucklehead meatballs don't understand), is working.

There is no guarantee in prospects. But what they have done to restock the talent pool in the Cubs organization is worthy of nothing short of a gold medal.

They didn't fire Sveum without knowing that a better manager was willing to take the job. It'll either be Girardi or Gardenhire if you listen to reports out of Chicago. Mike Maddux is also in the discussion..

Theo says he's wanting to make a decision by early November...he knows who he wants.

Agree, I don't think this was an "anyone by Sveum" type fire. They've got their targets and have to at least believe they've got a decent shot at one or more of them.

This.

I am on board with what Theoyer is doing. They are going about things the right way. They are will go after under the radar free agents to support the young talent as opposed to having the young guys support the big names and huge contracts. The way MLB is set up, you have to have star young talent and build around it. You can't just sign a bunch of allstars ala the Angels and Dodgers.

If Girardi does end up being the guy I hope he brings David Robertson with him.

I saw Tom Ricketts at the Barons Smokies playoff series in Bham...not that it means anything just passing it along...CSB.
