Everyone realizes that every other SEC team has deficiencies; right?

Yes our defense was terrible Saturday but so has every other defense this year. The only dominant SEC defense this year is probably Florida and they have their own problems.

Just get ready for life in the Big 12 this year. Teams will have to win in shoot outs and I like our chances.

Calling our defense a "deficiency" sounds an awful lot like youre stretching trying to minimize how severe the problem is.

Bad defense is a catastrophe. It's practically half of the team.

Seems like there was a former coach here that commented how this fan base had "catastrophe syndrome". Who was that guy??

ole miss eschewed field goals to go for td's, which was the right call. that said, it was still an impressive performance, but Bo Wallace is not a real passer. Bama's D can be had by a true passing game.

I would rate bama's defense second in the SEC, but they are a big dropoff from Florida.

They also gave up 42 pts and 628 yds of offense in their first road game of the year against a top 10 opponent.

There's a difference between not having a dominant defense and one that allows an opponent to score on 8 of 11 drives in a game to reach 44 points. With LSU's offense this year, no one is saying that the defense has to be dominant, but one would at least expect it not to be absolutely helpless to stop an opponent. There's a middle ground, and LSU needs to find it soon
