Also a big reason why Catholic, and Weiner, has done so well the past however years was because of Garidel

yea I know the new DC is doing well. i was just talking about the success over the last 20 years or so that Weiner has had.A lot of that deserves to go to Garidel.

And Tommy, trust me, Garidel is a great DC.

Yep. All the baseball players that didnt play football that I was good friends with would just bash the dude all day long.

I never played baseball and honestly didnt care about baseball haha. All I know is that Garidel was an awesome DC.

Struggling at Zachary right now, but I think thats more due to the players and talent he has over there. His D is pretty complicated and, just like anything in football/sports, if you dont execute it/run it correctly itll fail. So hes either running it at Zachary, and the players cant pick up on it. Or, hes changed it and just runs base packages.

Red, when did you graduate from Catholic?? If dont want to give exact year, around what years were you at Catholic?

I was there the same time you were there haha. 2 years younger than you. I have an older brother that was a year ahead of you, I think.

The d looks the part but had no clue what to do. Some good size on d line. Should have gotten better penetration against Rummel whose line didn't look that athletic.

Yea a lot of schools are. Hes still a JR. My dad films most of the games for catholic, and hes been told by coaches that Ferguson is getting a lot of attention from a lot major schools. Dont think he has an offer yet, but gets letters/phone callls/ etc. about Ferguson. And I think he will be a LB in college.

Just a tidbit of info. The 06/07 school year, 06 football season. CHS-BR vs Scotlandville, between the 2 schools they have 4 players on NFL rosters that were on the school rosters then. Stewart & Broha from CHS-BR and Dallas Thomas & Brandon Boldwen from Scotlandville. Don't know if Herman Lathers from Scotlandville was able to make a practice squad.

Actually... CHSBears, youre wrong.

The 2006-2007 team never played Scotlandville.

First time Catholic played against them was the 2007-2008 team.

My senior year at Catholic, 2007, was the most frustrating year of football on the planet! We had the Gatorade all-state player of the year in Jason Peters and two guys currently playing in the NFL in Broha and Patch (Jeremy Stewart). One of the many reasons we lost the semi-finals to Acadiana was because we couldn't kick a 30 yard field goal so we go for it on 4th and 18 (down by 2 mind you) and lose the game.
Weiner wanted to "mold his own kicker" rather than go to the quarter finalist soccer team and grab one of those guys to kick the damn ball.
We had the best team in the state that year hands down, probably one of the best in CHS history, and he STILL couldn't get it done.

Rant over!

I'm a Catholic grad and this is laughable. Sure, Weiner produces some well-rounded young men, but he's a fricking idiot as a coach. I've never watched one coach lose so many games by himself. If he had a halfway-decent offensive system and used his stud players to their full potential, Catholic could kick arse, but he doesn't and then he coaches himself out of what he does get out of those player with that shitty offense. He sucks, face it.
