Has a NC become only acceptable goal for some fans?

Curious as to how many people actually feel that way. No matter how many underclass men we lose, we should be able to just plug in new guys and not miss a beat?
Just not realistic. If you point to Bama, realize that they won't be doing that for very much longer.

Ok every year is unrealistic. But with this much talent we are ready. It's been since 2007. Don't you think we should have another title? I do.

I agree 110%. With the talent that has been here since '07 there is no reason why there shouldn't be at least one more championship trophy added to the case.

SEC or NC, but we don't hold our coaches accountable like some other schools do. We are afraid that the untouchable millionaires might have a bad day with their feelings hurt if we are critical of the job they do at all. Poor guys. Their lives must be rough being coaches at LSU

The NC is always the goal. Why wouldn't it be? Doesn't mean the season is worthless if we don't win it but that's just the goal and now that goal won't be achieved.
My new goal is to do better than the CFA Bowl and for Bama to not win another nc.

So your suggested strategy is Waiting for him to get worse instead of trying to make yourself as great as he is?? Our coaching staff and program are not even close to what he has built. Miles will never win another NC at LSU. That door has closed.

I think it's extremely unrealistic to assume well make it to the title game every year. Once you realize just having a chance at it year in and year out is enough, is when you'll save some years on your life by avoiding stress.

Sec west championships are my goal. Anything less than making the seccg or a BCS game is a fail.

That's kind of pessimistic. None of us saw 2011 coming either, and barring an unprecedented media blitz and screw job we win it that year.
But the window is probably closed for a couple years til the new QB develops. Esp since our backup gets few reps and no passes even in mopup duty.
You never know, Saban might stroke out and retire early like Urban.

There's nothing wrong with having expectations of winning the SEC or a NC. With great recruiting classes and the money pouring into the program, expectations are going to be naturally high.
The only issue that I have is the mindset of armageddon after one loss. SOME people on here want Chavis (one of the best DC LSU has ever had) fired, and others blame the loss ODB for his muffed punt return. Georgia was just the better team yesterday. Plain and simple. We all know how hard it is to win on the road in the SEC. So there's still a light at the end of the tunnel with a lot of football to be played.
Example: 2003(#24 Florida) and 2007 losses (#17 Kentucky and UNRANKED Arkansas)
Again, there's a lot of football to be played.

I think it is realistic. I was foolish enough into buying it THIS year, calling for a NC!! Miles is always a day late and dollar shirt to fix problems. Never as they happen but always after they have repeatedly happened. Don't think Cameron will be here for entire contract. Saban making in roads in La recruiting little by little. The door slammed shut yesterday. Doubt 12-1 gets LSU in. BAMA maybe, but not LSU. Think we will see the pollsters make sure we don't get in. We are the boy that cried wolf. Order has been restored in the SEC and they like it that way. Miles inadequacies as a HC are all coming home to roost in the next 4 years.

Goal? Yes. Only acceptable goal? No way. SEC West should be acceptable goal, & SEC title & BCS appearance should be a regular occurrence but so much has to go right for a NC to happen.
