I was around during Curley's days but that defense yesterday was about the worst I have seen at LSU. Just when we get an awesome offense the defense goes to sleep. Hope the Chief makes some changes or we will have a long season!

Speaking of recruiting, wasn't Loston a 5 star?

Wait. we are 4-1. Still a top ten team. We lost to a great offensive team in UGA. With the exception of A & M, we can and should outscore everyone else on our schedule.Including Bama. We have had rather shitty offenses the last few years. At least this team will be exciting to watch.

did you count for all the points lee gave up on 7 pick sixes that year? That is not on the D regardless what the stats say. With that said , yes the D was still garbage.

Neither 50 was by the defense. Pick 6's made those point totals. If you are going to put up a nominee to contest this defense for worst ever, 1998 is a stronger bet than 2008. This is worse than Malveto and Tepper combined. LSU has never scored 40+ in regulation and lost a game...until now.

Any Defense in LSU history. Yes, including 2008 and 1998 and all the rest. Show me one that was worse.

You asked for it. Here is what our defense gave up in the big games points wise in 1998.

ARKANSAS: 41
NOTRE DAMIT: 39
ALABAMA: 22
OLE MISS: 37
KENTUCKY, YES KENTUCKY: 39!
FLORIDA: 22
GEORGIA: 28

I remember that team well and it was a horrible defense. Georgia will be the best offense we play all year and it was on their turf.

won't be long at all if we lose another rather quickly as we will be done as far as competing for atlanta and the NC. what's left then? some meaningless bowl game? exactly.

So far, we've played one of those teams. They scored 28 on Tepper, 44 yesterday. And "Kentucky, yes Kentucky" was Kentucky under Hal Mumme with Tim Couch. 39 was about their average.

Tepper set a school record for losing games while scoring 30+ points. This defense is breaking new ground, losing while scoring 40+. There has never been a worse defense wearing an LSU uniform. Ever.

Give us the 1999 defense right now and we would win the national championship.

you fail to show yards as well which is a huge measuring stick along with scoring defense.

While there is no arguing you point, This team reminds me a lot of 2001. Scoring a ton of points but butter for a "D". Not a bad year that year. 10-3 with a Sugar bowl win. I will take something like that from this years very young team.
