Miles on his "clap":

quote:

As it turns out, it is all about preventing injury. “You can’t be soft-handed; it has to be an aggressive clap,” he said before a demonstration. “You keep your fingers out so that you don’t get them caught in between, you know what I’m saying? If you get them in between here” — he gestured to the area between his fingers — “it can be an ineffective clap and you can get hurt. Injuries can occur if you don’t keep your fingers spread.”

I love me some Les.

I believe this statement to be genuine.

I was mad about the poll results until I saw it was PPP that conducted the polls

“With Saban as your coach, winning sometimes isn’t even fun,” he said. “The goal of Saban is not to have fun, it’s just to win. With Les, it’s always kind of fun and lighthearted, even if you lose. When you go to a football game you’re paying money to watch people play with a ball. You get your money’s worth with Les.”

Never thought of it this way. It's very true though.

I've been around miles in less public settings and believe 100% of that. I always find it somewhat odd that someone so well known, could also be so real. But it is something that is genuinely refreshing.

The way Dykes writes gives me goosebumps when he talks about LSU. Every time.

Great Article!!! We love you LES!!! I hope someday the negatigers realize what this man has done for this program. Not everyone can be a Nick Saban - nor would I want everyone TO be a Nick Saban. A day will come when this man will sorely be missed by a LOT of people.

If I'm remembering correctly, Paul Dietzel was despised for a little while following his stint as AD.
