Why would you choose to kick and have Georgia receive the ball at the start of both halves? And to think most Rantards think they are smarter than the coaches.

No, you defer, in which case your opponent will most likely make you kick.
If you 'elect' to kick then your opponent will elect for you to kick to start the second half, not too smart...

we do not choose to kick. we defer. which means we get the choice for the second half.
the team we defer to always elects to receive, because if they don't, then they don't get either kick-off since the second half is our choise.
we kick because we defer, and the opposing team elects to receive.

A couple of years ago, Louisiana Tech lost the toss, the opponent (Army I think) deferred, and Tech chose to kick.
