Jeter is not nearly as beloved by all parties in all corners like Rivera. It won't be close.

Jeter will be a cry fest all year next year once he announces. But Mo is the best ever so good point.

I thought the opposing team stuff became kind of stale, but last night was awesome. Jeter and Pettitte coming out to grab him was special.

Jeter is probably the most popular athlete in sports over the last 20 years.

And also one of the most hated. He will get the royal treatment in Yankee Stadium, but if you think there will be this genuine outpouring of emotion for Jeter like there is for Rivera... well, I think you'll be disappointed.

Mo is also revered as a person. I've never heard anyone say anything bad about the guy.

Yeah I hate the Yankees but Jeter has always been my 2nd favorite player behind Chipper.

I am a Mets fan and always respected Chipper. Everyone in Ny did. Jeter is old school the way we like it.

Playing center ended Mo's season last year; only fitting for history to repeat itself.

Just seems like a gimmick, I would prefer to see him on the mound all 3 games than in center

Never have seen people so emotional at a Yankee game since the Munson memorial game

By the way if the Mets didn;t sweep the Yanks all 4 games....

I'd love to see him get a game in CF. It's something he's always wanted to do. Can you imagine how awesome it would be if they hit him a fly ball with a runner trying to tag from 3rd?

But Sunday he should 100% be pitching the 9th
