The D is creating turnovers and playing lights-out in the first quarter but man they seem to turn it off as the game goes on

One thing the 2011 team had was killer instinct. It had zero to due with the crowd leaving at halftime, so stop.
If this young defense can find that and find it quick we can win out.

I think they have the talent just not enough quarters. They will grow up a lot this weekend win or lose.

I say rip the redshirts off Herron, Gilmore and Bain. We need fresh legs the whole game.

May have something to do with playing Oregon the 1st game of the season and knowing you can't let up because they could put up so many points in a hurry.

In the summer of 2011, reportedly the defense did a ton of conditioning in preparation for the Oregon hurry-up offense in the opener.
It seemed like that paid dividends in the opener and all season long.
I wish they would treat every summer like they did in 2011.

It also had slow start problems. Alabama, Arkansas, UT, Alabama again, Georgia, and MSU.

I'd like to see Bain kick some arse, as well. We see White already having huge impact.

And this year we've been starting fast. Save for the TCU game, we've been putting teams away pretty quickly. 2011 we'd just lean on teams until they fell down. We had to have had been top 5 in second half scoring that year. By the 4Q most opponents had nothing left.

Actually, LSU began preparing for Oregon's tempo during the Spring. Two offenses running back-to-back plays forcing the defense to get back imposition quickly.

Lsu prepared for TCU the same way they did for Oregon

I think this is all way overblown considering the opponents we've played so far.

Who are our starting LB's? Welter, Barrow and who?

I like Kwon Alexander more and more every game.

Our D is going to generate ridiculous pressure on Murray.

Murray will throw 3 picks.

I think it's just a matter of taking the collective foot off of the gas when they feel comfortable.

The 1st quarter scoring is great. But I am real worried about how AU pushed them around in the 2nd half.

I'm not to worried about it. I mean didn't like seeing them gash us right up the middle for 6 yds a carry in the second half but I think we were already looking towards GA at that time

And this is a good thing? UGA is WAY better on offense than AU is. This is a scary game for LSU.

My OP was mostly about Killer Instinct. It's the difference between a good defense and a championship defense. No that's not good.

While I really hope this happens what have you seen so far from out front 4 or even 7 against much weaker O Lines than UGA that makes you think this will happen? I haven't seen us get much consistent pressure and 7 total sacks when the opponent has thrown the ball 115 times is not very impressive.

Like I said I hope we can pressure AMurray Saturday w/o having to rely on blitzing more than 1 extra guy because he's capable of getting comfortable and on a hot streak and make it a long day for our defensive backs.
