Ok,
For all the posters saying OSU won't make it based on schedule strength, I can buy that (although OSU only controls OOC games, and those sucked this year too).
What I can't buy is the belief that OSU will get squashed if they are in the game. Why? Don't give me 2007 LSU or 2006 UF either. Give me reasons why you think OSU can't compete.
Pat Forde has his dash and said OSU was the most talented team by starters in college football. I don't know if OSU is that great, but they have the talent to compete

34 points given to Cal didn't do any help in answering the questions I had with inexperience in your front seven. I will get to see Cal go up against our defense, so it may just be GOFF and the passing game is legit.

Your history and the Big 10's history. Every time we hear this crap it turns out that your team sucks compared to a truly top notch team. Your team will not be tested and I find it hard to believe the nation will want to see yet another arse kicking in the championship game.
As far as the media, there were people who thought Notre Dame actually had a chance last year too.

The only reason I can give you is that they just aren't as good as teams like LSU, Oregon, Alabama, A and M and Stanford. Even teams like Georgia and Clemson would beat you IMO. Since you guys don't play anyone it is impossible to prove but I would bet 90%+ of people who watch CFB would agree with me.

OSU will lose to someone, but if they don't, they still don't deserve to play for a NC.

Who cares?
The problem with tOSU is it's all speculation...and the non-speculative part - how you've looked this past year and half against some sub-par competition - isn't great.
You might go two years w/o playing a single Top 15 team (actual Top 15, not preseason nonsense) - that is BCS worthy and actually really good - not, we won the Big10 at 7-4.
tOSU's problem in public perception is it skated having to play a Top team in America in a BCS bowl after last year because of the ban...
So tOSU will go two years undefeated regular season without playing a team that can expose them.
Why should the public have to watch a "title game" where one of the participants...is playing their first test in two years?
That's bogus. We'd rather have two teams who had the potential to lose and be exposed by their competition but made it through the fire...rather than, one team - tOSU - who skirted the fire and jumped to the end.

Ohio State has a bad defense and will lose one Big 10 game because of it..

They have played some of the worst defenses in all cfb. The top defense they've played ranks #104/125 and throw in FAMU. Throw in the fact that they've played #123, #124 and an FCS opponent.

Well some of that is probably due to OSU putting up 500+ yards in every game...
I've already said OSU's schedule is not good, and the only real reasons I've gotten for why OSU shouldn't be in there is because they don't "look" as good, which is bogus and is proven to be so every single year repeatedly, and the "they don't play anyone" which they can't do much about

Portland State put 600+ on Cal and Eastern Illinois carved up SDSU.
I believe tOSU has a good offense. However, there is not a lot to be gleaned at the moment.

I think giving up 34 to Cal makes it obvious.

Right. The NCAA forced them to schedule Florida A&M as part of the sanctions handed down
