How do you know this?

As someone else noted, it's strictly conjecture but considering the shallowness of the stories they've thrown out thus far it's not much of a stretch to make for someone with a couple of decades worth of useless comic book knowledge. ;) In the comics, Fury himself has been known to use LMD's quite often. So much so that most of the time the folks he's dealing with end up wondering if that was the real Fury they were talking to or not.

This is a good point. LMD's are such a huge part of SHIELD's history. They're not going to be introduced into the show in some small way.

I just hope its not in such a predictable way as to explain Coulson's return. That being said, its only predictable to comic nerds like myself. Average Joe has never heard of an LMD before.

Right now what are all the mysteries they've opened up?

- Coulson's reappearance/Tahiti
- Rising Tide/Skye's seemingly continued involvement
- Who does the doctor from the pilot work for?

And obviously there is still back story to explore with every character, most interesting so far being Melinda May.

Have I missed any loose threads?

I was always more of a DC reader so I don't know squat about LMDs.

That said, I've seen enough TV shows, movies, and other media to know either Coulson got a ridiculous surgery at the last second to save his life or he is a clone of some sort.

With Dr. Shepard Book ominously saying something along the lines of "He can never know" in the first episode it became most likely it was the latter clone/robot answer.

Oddly enough I think the clone-ish answer is more believable than not dying.

Well, yeah. You should check out Arrow, if you aren't already. Hot girls all over the place on that one. But then again, it's on the CW, so that's expected.

I think you have it covered. As far as back stories go, I'm interested in May as well. Other than her and Coulson, I don't really care about the rest.

One thing that I hope doesn't eventually bite the show in the arse is the disinterest that most have in young guy agent and Skye. They're developing their stories and obviously creating a love interest angle but they both stink.

I'd rather see some more senior agents introduced. Too many children in the cast.

But don't you get it? He was a loner and she doesn't trust anyone. It's great because they think they're so much different than each other but really, they're just alike. It's a great storyline to keep exploring trope trope trope hack hack hack rabble rabble.

ETA: Just to be clear, this post is a shot at the storyline, not anyone that has a problem with it.

Exactly. Whedon's trying to create the Scooby Gang of the 2010's and I'm not feelin it yet.

That being said, there is plenty going on that I see potential in.

This. It's suffering from too much cheese and not enough grit.

Hot girls will generally keep me watching a show. Hayden Panettiere is the only reason I kept watching Heroes. Maybe I'll check this out.

Episode was much better than the previous. Odds of the doctor coming back as some type of super villain?
