He brought so much history and tradition to LSU.....Our current jersey design / Saturday night football / Chinese bandits / 1st modern day national championship!

I would up vote a call to name the field after him!

Not the originator of Night football in Tiger Stadium-- dates back to early 30's.

NOT going to happen. No disrespect to Mr. Dietzel but "Tiger Stadium" represents more than any one human being. It is what makes LSU the most unique and inviting university in the country. Represent as a group of united people - with Paul Dietzel at the top of the list.

Nah. Maybe a road or a building or something named after him. Not Tiger Stadium though.

Uh, no.

Dietzel was LSU's football coach from 1955-61, posting a career record of 46-24-3. He only had 3 winning seasons out of 7.

True, he won a National Championship, but he wasn't our longtime coach nor did he have a great record.

The only logical answer is no...the naming of the field is reserved for....

The man that made this program what it is today....

Saban...
