7-13 yr old football teams will be fined $200 for beating a team by 35+

LINK
quote:

As reported by Sacramento NBC affiliate KCRA, the Northern California Federation Youth Football League (NCFYFL) instituted stiff new penalties for any teams that beat opponents by 35 points or more. Specifically, those teams will be fined $200 and their coaches will be suspended from all league activities for two weeks. The penalty is a drastic change for the league of 7-13 year-olds, which previously issued teams with a warning following such blowouts and required a written description that detailed what the victorious team had done to try and keep scores low.

WTF...

I understand not intentionally beating down a team, but to fine them is complete and utter bull shite.

So what if you are up by 34 and the opposing team purposely takes a safety to put you up by 36, so you are fined, then what?

That BS happens all over.

My kid's 8-9 year old league ... they were up 30-0 at halftime.

2nd half ... the team down 30-0 plays offense only ... so, the team up 30-0 gets to play all defense and flat-out tee-off on the QB, RB, etc., of the team that is already overmatched.

Poor QB of the other team got absolutely killed unnecessarily thanks to the "mercy" of some stupid little f****t p***y rules that have permeated into our society.

Les Miles has lost control of California Youth Football.

It's simple. When you score your 5th touchdown, on the ensuing kickoff, simply let the other team run the kickoff back for a touchdown. Do that from then on. The will always keep it at 28 or so points. That should make that other team feel better, because hey... they let them score.

What about high school teams? My sophomore year we lost to a team 51-0 and my feelings were hurt

Paid them back 2 years later in the state playoffs though.

My favorite part of this it is another example of how I'm amazed liberals like this dude in the article have even MET children.

He says they keep losing kids who quit because they are beaten constantly. Um. OK. So, does he think that if they lose every week 35-0 with the other team flopping to avoid making it worse will IMPROVE their self esteem?

I'm a very good racquetball player. I can compete with many open players. I NEVER let up if I'm kicking your arse and on occasion, I've played a stud who HAS let up while kicking mine. I hate losing but I hate competitive charity about 10 times more. It's goddamned embarrassing.

I usually tell the guy, "just beat my ass; it's how I get better".

These liberals seem to think that the kids are too fricking stupid to know they are highly outclassed in a game if you simply rig the score.

Reminds me of not keeping score in youth soccer. I have literally NEVER been to such a game where the kids didn't KNOW the fricking score anyway. I've never seen a kid on a team getting hammered walk off unaware his team had been hammered just cause no one said the "official" score was 12-0.

I think there are some important lessons to be learned regarding how to act when you are whipping someone's arse ... and also how to act when you are taking an arse whipping.

Because both will happen in life ... some will get more of the former ... others more of the latter.

Because life is not a 10-10 tie with no OT.
