Did LSU switch to the new jersey numbers because they are more slimming?

Is LSU's defense.. LBs in particular.. smaller than years past or do the streamlined numbers give them better figures?

Kids like the small numbers. That's why guys fight over single digit numbers. The smaller style makes even big numbers like 33 look better.

Not a fan of the new numbers. Prefer the old block-style numerals. My opinion matters dammit
