The most highly publicized youth football player in memory committed to LSU over the weekend -- just four games into his freshman season at his high school a mile up the road.

Dylan Moses, 15, announced his commitment on Twitter, and ESPN later confirmed the Baton Rouge (La.) University Lab School freshman's decision via text message.

Moses first made national headlines when LSU coach Les Miles, Alabama's Nick Saban and everyone else in between offered him a scholarship as an eighth-grader, when he registered a 4.46-second 40-yard dash and 34-inch vertical leap at LSU's football camp. Fittingly, Moses is still considered a general "athlete" prospect because there's plenty of time for him to nail down precisely what position he's best at.

I realize we have a recruiting board but I thought a 15 year old committing as a HS freshman and making the Yahoo home news page deserved a shout out on the Rant. (I hope the admins agree. )

Glad we've won the early battle, but so much could change in the 4 years before he steps on campus.

Originally had a comment about Saban not being at Alabama in my original post but removed it before submitting.

Hell, Miles might not be at LSU in 4 years (I like to believe he will, but who knows).

In his defense that was one of the first things I noticed too because I'm already familiar with the story

His dad has been a recruiting board regular for about two years now. He jumps on the gumps pretty good too on the secR

Dylan has been camping nationally for over a year and has pretty much been to all of the big schools. He was ready to shut it down and focus on beig a teenager. Great to see involved parents.

I'll have to read the recruiting more more often. What's his dad's screenname, assuming it's not a secret?

He's supposed to be 6'2 220 4.4.... The million dollar question IMO is how tall is he gonna be in 4 years? His pops says most of the men in the family are 6'6 to 6'7..... At his current size he's a legit d1 rb or lb. if he grows a few inches, with that speed, the kid literally would be built like Clowney.
