See title. My question is how good is baylor. Their numbers the first 3 weeks are absolutely ridiculous.

I'll still take Oregon and atm over baylor, with Clemson and boyd pulling up the rear

I can promise you that you'll get responses from people who haven't seen Baylor since RG3 left.

Haven't seen Baylor.

1. TAMU
2. Oregon
3. Clemson

But I think Oregon is a far more well-rounded team than TAMU.

I just don't like what their game up the middle.

Baylor still hasn't played a good team, but from what they've done? Oh. My. God. Just to give credit to Oregon for at least playing a few teams with a pulse, I'll go:

Oregon
Baylor
A&M
Clemson

But I reserve the right to move Baylor to #1 once Big 12 games start. They look like a machine.

Why is Clemson considered in this? They are 34th in PPG and 45th in YPG.

I would say:

1a. Oregon- has put up less YPG and PPG than Baylor but has played a tougher schedule
1b. Baylor- insane video game like stats
3. A&M
4. UCLA
5. Ohio St.
6. FSU
7. Ga. Tech

ETA: Washington and Oklahoma State and then maybe Clemson

1. Oregon. A ton of points against a rent-a-win FCS team (which Oregon should do) plus significant points against teams in major FBS conferences (albeit the weaker programs in them).
2. A&M. They scored nearly as many points (65) against the two-time FCS runner-up as Oregon did against a weaker FCS team. They had 59 against Rice with JFF out the entire first half, plus 42 against SMU with JFF sitting most of the second half. And of course 42 against the #1 team in the country.
3. Baylor. A weak FCS school and two FBS cupcakes, but tons of points against them is what a team should do. Especially as one of the FBS teams (Buffalo) didn't totally roll over against Ohio State. Also note that 28 of their points have been scored by their defense (that's right, the defense has scored more points than it has allowed). But until Baylor plays somebody with something resembling a pulse (Oklahoma or Oklahoma State) I'm not moving them above #3.
4. Clemson. NC State is a mid-level ACC team and they scored fewer points on them than they did against a ranked Georgia team.

Oregon's two FBS opponents have been from top-tier FBS conferences (ACC and SEC). Baylor's two FBS opponents have been from lower-tier FBS conferences (MAC and Sun Belt).

Because they beat an SEC team. The media drools over that.

Baylor's offense is terrifying - they could've easily scored 100+ multiple times this year.

Hell, they are my #1 until proven otherwise.

Nicholls, Virginia and Tennessee

as opposed to

Buffalo, ULM and Wofford.

Big difference.
