I don't think she is dead either

I think the whole 45 days thing was Ted just pointing out that was the loneliest he had ever been and would do anything to have her for that amount of time.

It's my theory that he does. I think the mother is dead. Which is why he's telling the story. There's also a speech he gave last season about wanting the extra 45 days with her. That was the biggest thing. But we shall see. The writers have hinted at a death this season.

Why in the hell would you want this show to end like this?

If they are really going to stretch out the last 36 hours before the wedding across an entire season, I have a sinking feeling were gonna have a bunch of filler episodes.

I'm gonna watch. I'm not going anywhere. I even promise not to come on and bitch about "boy, nothing happened in that episode."

Because nobody likes Ted Moseby, Architect. He's like the Alabama of sitcoms.

never said that's how i want it to end. in fact, i'm not even sure how i want it to end. it's just my theory.

i think if they had ended the show last season with that scene of just showing the mother, i would have been completely happy. they have lots of loose ends to tie together, very small details, but nothing overly major. i just hope this season is fun like the 1st 4.

Finished the last episode on my flight. Wow.

The first 13 episodes sucked. The next 11 were fantastic. Including the best episode to date where Ted realizes he is al

I can care less about the mother. I just want to know when Marshall is going to use his last 2 slaps from the slap bet.

there's only one slap left.

someone figure out what day this refers to
LINK

Eta forgot the Duckie tie added slaps

quote:

the slaps are:

Slap no.1 Slap bet(birth of the 5 slaps): for no particular reason

Slap no.2 Stuff: because of Barney's ridiculous one man show(revenge on Lily)

Slap no.3 Slapsgiving: Marshall creates a holiday: Slapsgiving (version of thanksgiving where instead of thanks they give slaps) where the slap target was Barney(obviously)

Slap no.4 Slapsgiving 2: Revenge of the Slap: Marshall forgot the Thanksgiving Turkey in a cab, which Robin and Ted picked up at Port Authority and so, Marshall rewarded them the 4th slap but they have to decide who is going to slap Barney between both of them. Robin gifts Ted the slap, then Ted gifts Robin the slap, Robin gifts Mickey(Lily's dad) the slap,Mickey gifts the slap to Lily. Lily can't slap Barney.A nerve-wracked Barney is released from the chair(yes he was tied to A CHAIR!), but before he can sit down to dinner, Marshall slaps him.

Slap no.5 Disaster Averted: Barney was wearing the ducky tie so,he wanted to remove it because he was meeting Nora's parents that's why Marshal was allotted 3 more slaps (making a total of 4 slaps left for him to use on barney as he still had 1 slap left from the slap bet and adding the 3)and one of which he used on that moment.

Slap no.6 Disaster Averted: The sixth slap was used a second after the fifth slap.

Slap no.7

Slap no.8

If the filler episodes are funny, then enjoy it. I feel like people just want to skip the journey go straight to the last page. What made this show great was the comedy and tomfoolery in the episodes. In seasons 1-5, it's almost as if meeting the mother was irrelevant because you knew it wouldn't happen until the end. Now, people are fricking PISSED if they don't get new information instead of just enjoying the show. This is the last season. They'll get there. Enjoy it while it lasts.

totally agree. if they pick up where they left off last season, this season could be really good.

Agreed. But, after season 5, the show went through a phase that was all filler, no substance, and a lot of it wasn't that funny. Thats whats gotten fans frustrated. Were seeing the same storyline over, and over again.

*********SPOILER ALERT***************

The entire plot device with Ted running off with Victoria only to immediately turn her into a horrible character and then ditch her almost as fast the next season is a great example of this.

One thing I AM looking forward to: The resumption of the Slap Bet.

Tangent: What has been everyone's favorite episode so far?

Mine was "Girls vs. Suits", Followed by "Symphony of Illusion".

My wishful thinking:
Ted marries this chick. Then, the moment that he is finally happy, Bob Saget happens. Bob swoops in, bangs Ted's Wife, fathers "Ted"'s 2 kids on the couch, and then kills Ted "Highlander" style to claim his power and his memories.
