A guy invited me to go on a guided inshore trip the 2nd weekend in October to cocdrie. Are the trout biting that time of year ? Reds ? I would rather bring home trout than reds

Yes. If we get another cool front it will help. But the trout are moving closer and closer as we speak

IMO October and November are the best times to fish for trout.

October is my favorite month to fish. The weather is cooler and the ride is a lot shorter.

Yep. similar pattern to the spring. I caught a 5.5 on a top dog in Lac Boudreaux in March or April.

The specks are schooling in the bays, but the real fun I believe is the reds. They are everywhere and hungry.
