The root cause of the crowd issue

I think the root cause of our crowd issue is what has happened with the TAF and ticket prices. The only people that can really afford season tickets are the upper crust. Gone are our diehard blue collar fans that stayed for every play, soaked in bourbon, and treasured a Saturday night in Tiger Stadium.
If you can afford 5-7 thousand for season tickets, then you can afford to let them go unused on a rainy night with the game on espn. I realize the money is needed to compete, but it has changed the nature of who attends the games away from our more traditional fan base.

Poor. High ticket prices are a sign that we are a legit program. Make some more money and buy some tickets.

Agree 100%.
It would cost a family of four $1,000 to go to last night's rain event once you consider the cost of the tickets, TAF fees, parking, gas, and outrageous concession prices.

Root cause was the students bailing in the second. People left all over, but the student section was down to the bottom 2 sections only. So I don't want to hear one student bitch about fans leaving.

What a rational solution.

You could've gotten great tickets for free last night. Stop bitching about successful people contributing much needed money to this program.

You are correct. And those same people probably left early because they knew they had an early morning to get to the other game they have tickets to.
Because of tv, ESPN, ticket prices, weather, football will never be the same.
It was Auburn and the amount of people that left was pathetic. My shoes felt like they had an inch of water in them, but I stayed for the entire game.

additional factor is the logistics of getting into and out of. Traffic is insane. People want to leave early so it doesn't take an additional 2 hours to get home. Not justifying, but human nature is what it is.

I have season tickets. There til the last snap.
As I said, I realize it may be necessary. But the consequence is an occasional empty stadium.

soon there will be noone left that throws piss baloons and tips porto potties. we will be the tejas tea sipping crowd and will clap after a good play and say things like "well done jeeves" and "our defenders are properly posturing tonight" and "lester seems a bit mellow tonight, he's such a fine chap".

Somebody check 'Bama highligts and see what their crowd situation was in the 3rd quarter.

That's some of it, but really it's the mob mentality. Everybody else is leaving, so I will too. Snowball effect.

LSU has the cheapest tickets and fees of any of the good SEC football programs fwiw. But carry on.

IMO, the root cause is that Miles allowed the offense to bore the fans to death after going up 21-0 in the first quarter.

Fresh new topic. Never been discussed.

People have been bitching about the crowds leaving since I could remember back to the late 80s. We just didn't have tigerdroppings to post our bitch. Get over it.

Social standing has nothing to do with it!,,
It's about the poor infrastructure to get people out of the games quickly at games end and the driving distance home to Lafayette, Lake Charles, New Orleans, Shreveport, Monroe etc.

Baton Rouge is situated in a subtropical climate. Therefore, the people shouldn't be bothered by a little rain. It doesn't bother the indigenous tribes of the Amazon rain forest. They even paint their asses purple and gold for games.
