I figure everybody in our league will be picking Seattle or Denver. Should I hope for an upset and go with the Vikings or go with a heavy favorite? 8 grand on the line in this survivor pool.

We can pick a team up until their specific game starts.

The world is a lot bigger than TD pickem. A lot of leagues let you change your pick up until 11:59 am Sunday.

But OP, I wouldn't try to get cute. There are a lot of reasons to stay far far away from Minny/Cleveland. Better to be a winner with everyone than to be a loser hoping all the winners lose.

Had that reaction initially, but he means the Jags upsetting the Seahawks.

Yea and I would like to keep Seattle for later in the year.

Yea I know that saving Seattle does me no good in the Vikings lose.

Things that scare me about Minnesota:

1.) they haven't exactly set the world on fire.
2.) Cleveland's defense is good enough to give them a chance.
3.) Seems like every time a team relies on a new or back-up QB, that first week that he starts, miracles seem to happen. Brady Quinn was in a very similar situation vs Denver a few years ago and everything went perfect for him. And it seems like this scenario happens a lot.
4.) in general, anytime a huge shakeup happens (especially like it did this week) all bets are off.

I'd just play it safe this week and ride with Seattle.

It's like clockwork man.

shite, I remember Jake Delhome's first start was like this, wasn't it?

I know just thinking back on it, so many times the team that has zero chance because their starter went down ends up balling out of control with their replacement QB. Then factor that in with all the craziness happening in Cleveland. The stars are unaligned and weird shite seems to happen.

Jesus dude. There's 10 minutes left in the second quarter. Lets tap those brakes

Nothing is for certain, but the fact that they came out on fire already when a lot of people felt like this was a gimme.
