Any one else concerned about our rush defense.....especially against a mobile quarterback? If we had such a tough time stopping auburn what is Johnny Football going to do?

We could not stop anything but their short passing game. Our run defense is terrible.

The defense is and probably will be a work in progress. What don't people understand about this?

Offense went into a shell forcing more defensive series. Give any SEC team enough possessions and they're going to score.

I thought the defense played well overall but they just got tired at some point. If we are ever in a game where our offense is truly stagnant then we'll have serious problems. I haven't seen this offense have serious problems yet. When they've maintained aggression, the team has thrived.

This. It will improve as the season progresses.

We are very weak up the middle, we have no athlete at middle linebacker and can't stop screen passes, our ends never contain and always get caught inside. We are very young and it is starting to show up. Let's face the facts we have played 2 very bad teams UAB, and Kent State and 2 very average teams in TCU and Auburn. The real season starts in Athens. It will be interesting.

It is called 84 plays for Auburn offense and not enough depth in the interior D-line. They were gassed at the end.

It's called an offense going in fricking shell running the same vanilla crap from last year. Man I was pissed.

People understand that, but at the same time they haven't seen a safety as bad as Micah Eugene in... maybe ever.

Umm.....we're getting into the heart of our SEC schedule.....we can't afford our defense to be a work in progress.....that's what the first few chump games are for

If Les takes the FG its a 38-21 game and Malzan's shenanigans at the end of the game are meaningless. Yes the D is young and was getting pushed around up the middle, but the HC has to recognize that and take the damn points when they are there. We had two red zone possession that resulted in zero points.

Manziel had almost 500 yards against AL. Mett and the offense better be ready to score some points against A&M.

BIggest surprise last night was we got burned on 2 Long passes and their receiver was double covered ............

Giving up the yards running up the middle and on the corners is concerning but add in being burned on the long pass?? Seems to be a recipe for disaster.

Not concerned about our defense. The field was sloppy at the end and we were giving them the middle lane all day long to keep the clock running. I don't agree with it, because the game wasn't as out of hand as our coaches seemed to think.

What concerned ME was our offensive playcalling on the last 2 possessions(not including the kneel to end the game). We ran it up the middle 5/6 times for no gains. That conservative shite could cost us a game this year. We had the chance to get a first down and end the game, but instead we conceded the ball. Allowing Auburn to have even a slight chance to close the gap to 1 score at the end there is bogus.

A lot of factors here on a sloppy field, but the most important is the opposition's number of plays. The defense really hurt themselves by allowing some 3rd down conversions early on those long drives. They were gassed, but made some plays down the stretch.

When the offense makes a big play to seemingly put the game away, the defense gives up 90 yards. When the defense makes a great play, the offense goes 3 and out.

We need these units to really contain the momentum and have each other's back.

I will agree on this but as long as Welter stays on the field it leads me to believe our talent at LB is pretty thin. If injuries to our dline become a problem I see our young secondary getting exposed. By far this is the weakest linebacking core I have seen in sometime. I am not throwing in the towel on them yet but damn it is hard to watch most of the tackles being made by dline or our secondary especially on run plays. Beckwith and kwon Alexander do give me hope though.

It is what it is whether you like it or not. This was determined the minute all of those underclassmen declared. A couple of early season games wasn't going to magically make everything better.

Did Beckwith play at all yesterday? Earlier CLM promised to play him at linebacker position.
