Last year a company advertised with Tigerdroppings offering a tailgating package that included tent, table, tv, and chair set up and removal for each home game. My company decided that this would be something that we would like to do. Most of the people we tailgate with have small children and it is hard to get enough people to the game early enough to set everything up. Most of us drive in from Calcasieu Parish on game day.

The tailgate each week was a big success. It also made it much easier to bring clients to the games. Subsequently we renewed for this year. This year a different company advertised with Tigerdroppings for the same service. We were already booked with the company from last year and were more than happy with their service.

Fast forward to last night, two days before the Auburn game I get a letter from the company I'm renting from stating that LSU Sports Properties says they are breaking tailgating rules and won't be allowed to set up for the Auburn game. Today there are letters and phone calls sent back and forth between LSU and the tailgating company. It looks like that the tailgating company will be asked to leave campus and will be arrested if they do not leave.

This leaves my company in a bind as we don't have enough time to pull together a tailgate in this amount of time. So I have to tell everyone that we have invited including clients that we will not be able to tailgate tomorrow.

I still haven't told you about the power of advertising on Tigerdroppings. Wondering if only the company we were using had received this letter we contacted the second company that offers this service and they stated that they still had a few single game packages left and we could get on their waiting list for next year. They are still able to set up tomorrow for the Auburn game. So advertising the first year with TD got the business going and not advertising with TD the second year got the business stopped.

TLDR: Always advertise with Tigerdroppings and for continued success keep advertising with Tigerdroppings.

I'm thinking about advertising catering packages.

Sorry about that story bro. Sounds pretty bad. What happened? They just didn't want you guys around? Were any policies violated?

Hope you get a refund

Companies dont put up tents, people do.
With all the people setting up tailgates how does LSU know?

All the need to do is take the decals off of their trucks?

It sounds like the new company has a little bit of stroke in the BR area. Not sure if that is true or not. But they are still operating. I just received some information from LSU stating that I could rent equipment from the company I am using now, but I had to set them up myself. Also I can't set up near anyone else who rents from them. Also I was told that power could not be shared between tents.

If it is Chicken approved jump on board, but if you see a pop up for LIMU you better dump that Herbalife shite and get on board with the Blu Frog.

If they split the tents and dont advertise, there is no way lsu would be able to tell anything.

How is this a problem? I just don't see it.

I don't really see the difference in this and most tailgates. I have a buddy who tailgates at the top of the hill and he basically sent a check in at the beginning of the year for his portion of the tailgate. Then he just showed up on game days.

They offered to sell us single game packages for Florida and Furman. They said A&M is sold out and they offered to put us on the list for next year.

The problem? Same problem with every other institution. When finally get to the bottom of it all, it's about money and politics.

I was a vendor at live after five last go round. Could only sell food. Couldn't even sell water. Why? Mockler beverage and coma cola has exclusive rights to just about everything. If you are caught selling drinks of any kind during 4th of July for instance you are immediately thrown out and never to return. So why would I do events where I can't make money? I don't.

Crooked arse shite. Ain't nobody coming on LSU campus and making money with out explicit consent. That consent would take FOREVER. You think the ABC board is bad? Start dealing with educational institutions. Especially ones that get 1 Penney from the Feds.

I would like to know the rest of the story. Like I said we used them all last year. If they are breaking rules then I don't have a problem. But why wait until now. In the email I wrote to LSU this evening I asked if it was possible to let it go tomorrow. Then there is a good break in the schedule and LSU and the tailgate company can hash it out. If they get thrown off the campus because they are out of compliance that's ok I'll have time to make other arrangements. Just let my tailgate be set up tomorrow.

They probably do not donate to LSU or TAF.

I'm sure there is more to the story. My guess is said company made enough money that once word got back to LSU they put the screws to him about being a vendor on campus. Then it turned out this guy didn't have the proper paper work or go through the proper avenues to be a vendor on campus. Just think if the company put up Pepsi signs or had a Pepsi tent. Do you think that wouldn't raise red flags?

It's a shame every thing has been regulated, promulgated, orchestrated into only the haves can what they want and the common people can't have a piece. This all of course has nothing to do with TD but more with society in general these days.

This guy does no advertising on his tents other than a small 12" sign that reads southern tradition tailgating.

No problems or issues with any guest either. Its really a shame that this is happening

LSU Sports Properties cares about this b/c it is cutting into their revenue. The purpose of LSU Sports Properties is to generate money for the athletic department via LSU assets. They want corporate tailgates to go through them so they can charge a pretty penny for renting a 20x20 plot of land for your reserved spot where you are allowed to display your company logo.
