***** I'm serious about the spoilers *****

Good tension throughout, though they do pretty much slap you in the face with some of the clues, like the maze necklace. It was obviously important when you first see it.

Regarding the ending with Wolverine in the hole faintly blowing the whistle, I'm pretty sure the detective found him but it almost seemed like they wanted to leave it a little ambiguous as to whether or not he is found, kind of like a poor man's version of the spinning top in Inception.

I saw this earlier myself. Didn't really know what to expect but Wolverine and Gyllenhaal were both really good, the latter especially. The movie itself was really long but I feel that had it not been, it wouldn't have had the tension throughout that you mentioned. The payoff wasn't as satisfying as I would've liked given the length of the movie, but it delivered enough to make it a more than solid flick on the cusp of being really, really good.

As for the end, personally I felt that the shot stuck with Gyllenhaal long enough to make it apparent that he was definitely hearing something worth checking out.

The way he heard it a couple times, dismissed it, then heard it again and started to walk that way certainly makes me think he finds him. I like that they didn't show him get found, though.

Did anyone notice that Loki's knuckle tattoo was the word maze? I'm confused about some of this

I noticed that too. He also had a free masons ring. For what it's worth.

I thought those were the signs of the zodiac, but I can't say for certain. Also, "Loki" seems like such an odd name for a character. I wonder if there's some symbolism there related to the Norse god. Also, as someone else mentioned, the free mason's ring seemed like more than a random prop. I'm not smart enough to figure it out if there is.

Definitely enjoyed it overall. Great tension throughout.

Had potential to be a great movie. However, it wasn't.

Pet peeves:
1. When Loki opens the trunks full of clothes & snakes, he leaves each locker open instead of closing them as he searched; freeing all of the snakes.

Continuity:
1. In the scene where Loki is bleeding from the head and rushing the girl to the ER, a clip of him passing a specific SUV is shown twice in the montage, only from different camera angles; same car.

Dis-belief:
1. Loki should have noticed immediately that the maze the suicidal whacko was drawing was the same maze as the necklace pendant of the basement corpse. Everyone in the theater recognized the maze; the detective didn't.

Lack of satisfaction/gratification:
1. I can handle the ending. The sound of the whistle and Loki's face tells me that he found Keller Dover alive. It's not necessary to show the rescue and reuniting with the family. I DO have a problem with not discovering more about the liquid concoction/drug in the soda bottles, the girls' environment/experience, Joy Birch's escape, etc.

I noticed the free mason ring as well; I'd love to know if there was some symbolism there. I thought the free masons had something to do with the "illuminati".

The fact that he didn't put the maze together instantly was a bit unrealistic, and I'd have loved for them to go into more detail about the girls experience as well.

One of the darker more suspenseful movies I've seen in a while. I enjoyed the frick out if it. Nice to see jake g. In a decent film again. Oh, and he definitely found wolverine at the end.

And frick if Melissa Leo can't play an old sadistic lady like a champ. I was going fricking nuts when she told him to put a tourniquet on it so he can still be alive when she throws his daughters body in the hole. I can't remember wanting someone in a movie to die more than her.

Can someone explain the connection to the dead guy found in the cellar, the snake man, and the RV guy? I didn't fully understand that part.

Dead guy in the cellar was the "uncle" of the retarded RV guy who had disappeared. He had been working with the "aunt" but out of some guilt went to confess to the priest, who then threw him in the cellar.

RV guy was one of the children they had abducted in the past. He was the kid who used to live in the house he parked the RV in front of at the beginning. Apparently he got dropped or something after being abducted and got brain damage, which is likely why they left him alive.

Saw it. It's easily the best movie I've seen this year.

Yeah, but whats the connection too the snake guy? Was he just a copy cat of the "invisible man" and had no connection to the actual kidnappers?

Finally saw it last night, really liked it.

I'm usually really good on clues, but I didn't notice the maze necklace until when Loki did.

But yes, was a very intense film. Could've been shorter or they should have expanded on the girls in captivity or at least the escape. Also a little more clarity on snake dude, but the mom said she had "forgotten about him" so I guess he was another kid they took?

No doubt Loki finds Wolverine. I did have an issue with them figuring out Alex was the missing kid all of a sudden. Wolverine was still in a hole, mom was dead, so how did they figure that shite out? He was all over the news when they arrested him and nobody tied him to being missing kid before. Also, why was he "reunited"? Whether he was fricked up from being kidnapped and maybe retarded, he knew where the kids were and didn't help. He actually took them to play.

The old lady and her husband were part of some snake handling religous cult.
