Atleast it can be read by Pelosi and Reid, and they can know what is in it before they vote on it.

I swear, I have never heard a dumber thing than 'pass it to know what's in it'.

Pelosi is such a bitch.

I can see Paul Ryan orchestrating this behind the scenes. His voucher program was a complete disaster.

re: House Republicans Propose 'American Health Care Reform Act'

Just the fact that it is a much less complex piece of legislation is a positive from my perspective. The "we have to pass it to see what's in it crap" was the sickest joke of the 21st century. Congress should have taken a piecemeal approach that address the main issues a step at a time so the electorate could understand what was going to happen. As is the Dems illegally passed a bill that started in the House that was completely transformed into Obamacare and was so huge and complex that even the Congressmen who voted on the crap did not have time to read it all much less assess its impact.

You do realize this is a symbolic gesture only, right? Kinda' like voting to strike down Obamacare 40 times. It has the same chance of passing as you have getting to play qb for a series this weekend against Auburn.

We get it. You hate it. So do a lot of Ds. But it's the law of the land. Let's start focusing on how to improve it. And Karl Rove agrees with me on this.

Who cares what Karl Rove thinks.

This thing has to be eliminated before it becomes another sacred cow.

Anything any politician does to that end should be supported.

Everyone knows its shit, even the president. It's unfortunate his hubris outweighs his duty to this country.

SO they wait until two weeks before enrollment begins to introduce their proposal?

allow them to buy health insurance in any state

I like this idea

I think insurance companies would have to start putting pressure on state insurance regulations that require all of these ridiculous healthcare bundles when you purchase insurance.

For example you have to buy coverage for ridiculous gender impossible insurance as an individual in some states. Women have to buy prostate cancer insurance and men have to buy insurance for a hysterectomy. Obviously neither of those will ever be utilized by the individual buyer.

I think state insurance regulations need to be reformed to have more flexible and practical insurance packages that you can buy based on you and your families realistic needs. I don't think it necessarily needs to be a full a la carte service because then you're not really spreading the risk around like you would need to in an insurance based system but at least eliminate coverage for the impossible.

The GOP shutting down the government would be a strategic error. Obama would be strengthened and House Republicans will be seen as obstructionist.

No they don't. And not everyone can make use of a $20,000 deduction. It's not worth much to a family making less $50,000 a year.

Proving again, you are an idiot. There is no way you read through the bill that was proposed LAST NIGHT by the House.

And the white house has some discretion about what programs are considered critical. The entire government obviously won't be shut down. And you can bet that anything health care related will be considered a critical function of government.

House GOP just passed a bill to fund the government.

Reid won't bring it up for a vote.

Exactly how are the republicans shutting down the government?

Exactly how are the democrats not the obstructionists?

Do you really believe that?

The GOP won't raise the debt ceiling b/c Democrats won't defund/overturn Obamacare....so the Ds are obstructionist? Right. Just keep saying that.

re: House Republicans Propose 'American Health Care Reform Act'

So liberals. You're whole gripe with healthcare back in 2009 was "pre-existing conditions". So you passed Obamacare. You've admitted several times that obamacare is shite.

Now this bill comes along, and it fixes the mess of Obamacare, and adds in coverage for pre-existing conditions. What is your problem with the bill?

I will create a thread after lunch and go through the bill. I ask you come to that thread and debate me why you don't like the parts in the bill. And i will be going the ACTUAL BILL ITSELF, not liberal talking points. I hope to see you there, but i doubt you will show.
