Don't care about career stats.

In 2011. Lee was better than JJ, and any dipshit could see it.
As said JJ's stats reflect 3 Top 5 D struggles.

The only reason you want to use career to compare is because of 2008
Not alot of att, but 2009 was Lee's worst season. Look it up, and be glad we got Mett. It pays.

2/4 games we went for over 200 yards passing were jj started games. The highest offensive total was against number 3 ranked Arkansas. Miles not putting jl in on 1/9 created a far bigger myth and legend than anything jl did himself (no disrespect to the guy-good kid who stuck around and played a huge role on the funnest Lsu regular season I've been a fan)
Both qbs would have benefitted from anyone over crowton. With competent coaching of either during their early careers we win the nc in 2011

Still waiting for the Shep pass...

Both JLee & JJ would love to have Beckham and Landry for top 2 receivers and this offensive line! Lee would probably average close to 300 YPG over the course of the season if he were the QB. I expect Mett to average at least that as the season wears on and teams think we still won't pass. He may put up a few 400+ games as well. The team seems to be that good in every area! Play calling is exceptional as is the execution. It's working!

Here is a little JJ vs JL comparison. During his career the mobile JJ was sacked 75 times on 678 pass attempts or 1 for every 9 attempts. JL was sacked 21 times on 565 attempts or 1 every 26 attempt.

Lee was apt to throw it away and not try to make something of nothing. Just different MOs.

I don't look at them anymore. They aren't playing.

Please note the OL didn't cause Lee to throw picks in '08, as they were pretty good. Crowton just asked too much of him.
I don't know what JJ's excuse was for first 1/2 of 2010

SO because Mett was good those guy didn't suck?
Those guys sucked, mett was better last eyer than either were at any point in their careers.

Yes Jeffesron's play could be bone-headed and horrible at times but what really soured me on Jefferson was his lack of leadership and ability to take the blame when things were going bad. His "pass" to Ware that was intercepted in the championship game and his following reaction pretty much summed up his career. Jefferson was either oblivious to his own shortcomings or was just too arrogant to admit he had some. Jefferson couldn't lead buzzards to a gut wagon.

Did you watch JJ's last two games? Did Lee ever have games like those two?
Yes, when he played the exact same Alabama team.

It's laughable how much credit Cameron gets for the offense's improvement. If Stud was still coordinator this offense would be way better than last year. The reason is the oline. You could take the top flag football team in LSU's intramural system, put them behind this year's oline, and you'd have a better offense than the last two years. Mett and the receivers are also improved somewhat since they have another year under their belt. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to have Cam. I think he's made a difference. But no way he could have helped JJ. That guy couldn't keep track of Stud's offense.

If Cam was the OC in 2011. LSU would have become one of the greatest teams in College football history. With Lee at QB. They were pretty good already as far as all-time goes. But there would have been another Crystal Ball in Tigerland if Cam was the OC. Lee did real well until JJ came back.

Saban was his demise.

Actually you should be saying quite the opposite
not necessarily. Name me a QB coach worth it any year they were here? Was he a known guru before he was here? You could say Krags but he got sick and couldn't handle the duties.
quote:
You should be able to look at what he brings to the table and see how limited as QB's that both JJ and JL truly were.
Lee threw for almost 1900 yards and 13 TDs in 10 games his freshman year. JJ threw for over 2100 yards, 17 TDs and ran for another 170 and a TD in 11 and a half games his first year starting. Those stats are both better than what Mett did his first year and Jefferson didn't have a running game to help him. Mett had studied with a real QB coach at UGA for an offseason, then went and played a full year at JUCO before he threw up those abysmal stats from last year.
quote:
This is what a REAL QB looks like folks. Yes CC has helped Mett improve and yes he would have likely improved JJ and JL some.
If he improved JJ into more of a passer after his first starting year, we win the National Championship in 2010 and that is the truth. JJ would have left to the NFL(I know scary huh), and Lee would have took the 2011 team and won it all (no pain from 9/12). If he had stayed or left, Mett would have won it all in 2012. Guy, all we needed was a sound QB.
quote:
A good QB coach and OC isn't a magic bullet. You can't build a strong house out of toothpicks, you have to have some good materials to start with.
These were good guys before the system fricked them up. Do you really want to see what Mett would have looked like without Cam and more Stud?
quote:
JJ and JL were too flawed for them to ever have been more than mediocre QB's regardless of the OC or QB coach.
We would have won the NCG the last 3 years if we had Cam in 2010.

they were below average qbs.
Stud was never meant to be an oc. he was never a cabdidate. He was better than crowton though. one thing ab crowton was he wasnt a very good recruiter.

Lee was a McElroy in 2011. Did just enough and played safe (game manager). He did not go against one good defense and look good and that is a fact.
I am not trying to get on Lee, but JJ and Lee both would have been great. Stop with the bullshite that only Lee had a chance. In 2009 in adition to 18 total touchdowns and 2300 total yards in a game and a half less than Mett, JJ was the #2 redzone QB in the freaking nation! They both would have been good.
My projection of JJ in 2010 with Cam, would be 2600 yards 24TDs 400 rushing yards 5TDs. 14-0 vs Oregon
My prediction of Lee with Cam the following year would be 3400 yards 32TDs. 14-0 vs OK St (we would have beat Bama by more than 10 at their house)
If Mett played or Lee stayed, they both would have went over 3k and 30TDs 14-0 vs ND
We were the #11 ranked defense in 2010, 2nd in 2011, and 9th in 2012. Cam would have made us winners man. In the reg season, we lost by 1 TD each to two teams in 2010. No teams in 2011. In 2012 we lost to one by a TD, another by 4 points. A serviceable QB gets us to the NCG three years in a row.
