We're coming in for the auburn game and looking to set up a small tent and chairs as a base for some tailgating. Haven't done this before, and I know there are some funny rules about when you can drive onto campus, where you can park, when you can drop off your tent and stuff, etc.

Can you give me some tips or links about how best to do this? We'll definitely be setting up near the tower,no cooking gear, just tent, chairs and ice chests, and will be in town Friday night through Sunday morning.

Thanks,

If you don't mind walking (or you have anyone under 21 drinking) look at the vet school/hay field lot.

you can set up tents after 5 on friday. Be prepared to have it moved slightly if you end up taking someone elses area who has been there for year. Dont take offense to it, they will probably welcome you on saturday. You can park near the tower on saturday, will cost $40. Get there around 8am to make sure you can get fairly close to your spot.

Unless you tailgate along Nicholson Dr. where apparently Tuesday evening is acceptable.

You can drop of a trailer the night before after 5 p.m. You must have a trailer tag. Day of you can set up as you please. Watch out around the clock tower. There are people who have been in those spots for years. they get testy if you are in their spot.

just set up on the parade grounds. it's close to the tower. you'll have plenty of room. It looks like a lot of rain this weekend so I would bet you have more room than normal. you can park free east of Highland or pay $40 to park around the parade grounds. If you have a lot of stuff to load, the $40 is worth it. If not, just carry it and pick a spot. I like the parade grounds. We usually set up 3-4 tents, tv and satellite, cooking gear...you know the usual. Also it gives plenty of room for us to spread out a little and let the kids run around.

If you see a spot you want and the tent isn't occupied, just move it and place yours there. It's the nature of the beast. Good luck and good tailgating!!!

Move someone's tent if you want the spot. They'll respect you after that

Don't take people's spots and then show up at noon.

It amazes me people will go out there at 3 on a fri afternoon and not show up till mid am or noon.
I've seen it happen more than once.
FU if you are that guy.

I didn't see any this morning but I'm sure they will be out there by the afternoon drive home. On big games they are usually there by now (subtle Auburn sucks dig). Games like the last two, the first ones go up Wednesday evening as opposed to Tuesday.
