D.C. Mayor says sequestration may have played a role in Navy Yard shooting

quote:

Speaking on CNN's "New Day" on Tuesday morning, Gray said he wondered if budget cuts played a role in Tuesday's shooting deaths of 12 people at the Navy Yard.

"It's hard to know (what could have prevented it)," Gray said on CNN. "We're continuing this investigation. But certainly, as I look at for example sequestration, which is about saving money in the federal government being spent, that we somehow skimped on what would be available for projects like this, and then we put people at risk.

"Obviously 12 people have paid the ultimate price for whatever -- you know, whatever was done to have this man on the base."

Unreal.

So...

Republicans' fault.

I'd laugh, but there's a large bloc of people that believe this bull shite.

I think the problem is too much use of run-on sentences.

I don't know what's worse: people using tragedies for political gain or the dumb masses who fall for it.

Another example of the dumbing down of America.

Never let a tragedy go to waste...

RIP to those who lost their lives yesterday at the hands of a mad man.

That's odd. I could've sworn it was the 1993 Clinton legislation that forbid military personnel on bases from carrying their weapons that allows for a gun-free zone and sitting targets when a madman decides to kill some people. I don't think sequestration was in effect 20 years ago.
