Am thinking the A&M game will for sure be on College Gameday. I would like to go. Anyone on here been there and how early do I need to be there? I am guessing I will need to bring a tent and sleep out there during the night before. I would like to be upfront.
TIA
TIA

You can't be really up front without a special pass I think.

got it. Well maybe second row I have a while to come up with a good JFF sign.

I volunteered for the Bama LSU game a few years back. You don't have to have a special pass to get up front, you just have to get there early. Volunteers were to the set for 5:00AM. Plenty of fans got up close without being there are the same time. Hardhats are limited to 100-200, and go quickly. Volunteers are typically in all orange Gameday shirts, so be nice to them. Calling them assholes and shite will not get you a helmet or any other freebies that are given out.
There is no need to camp out, just get there around 5-6am and you should have no problems getting up front.

On a side note, Herbie is a complete douche on and off TV. Fowler was incredibly thankful for the volunteers' help, and Corso wears a ton of make-up and sweats profusely.
We got to go on the bus the Friday before to get some lanyards ready. It's really cool inside, and the bus driver is a really awesome dude. He was a black heavy set man, and I'm pretty sure it's the same guy who still drives the tour bus.

I went at the Oregon game in Arlington couple years back.
Sucked, but that was because it was +100 deg by 9:30 and in "up front" they won't let you bring drinks (yes, even water) in.
"up front" is the group you see in the background on the desk shots on TV. Fairly close. Close enough back then to marvel at Erin Andrew's arse (Sams will be just as good I predict).
Pretty boring over all though. Good enough for a one time thing to say you did it if you ask me. Fowler does his best to keep the crowd in it during the commercial breaks.
If you want to get in the "up front" group, I'd say by 9:30. It's managed kind of like a full bar, 2 come out, 2 can go in.
If you see the guy with the Washington Cougars flag, punch him in the nuts. I got kicked out for spraying him with a hole punched in a water bottle cap.

LSU fans, if they were smart, would boycott all things ESPN. Outside of watching a game (on mute) on that network, it serves no purpose in terms of helping LSU.

That's fricking stupid

The frick do they owe LSU?
That said, I don't watch ESPN other than games, because it sucks. Has nothing to with them "helping LSU".

I went to lsu/bama in ttown in 2005.
And uga/lsu 2003 on the pmac ramp.
In tuscaloosa I got there early and had a decent spot, I didn't try to get up front bc I wanted to be with other lsu fans.
Camped out in 2003, one of the best times of my life. A guy had a trombone and played lsu songs all night. Someo e showed up with a uga flag and it was burned and pissed on. Multiple kegs, bbqs.. I could go on and on. All on north stadium drive. That being said, I doubt the parade grounds are as wild

I was in the GBFTL when we played for it for the Alabama game last year. It was a lot of fun to be there. Hot as hell, though.

A few of them. They were here for Halloween last year and joined us for trick or treating in Riverbend sub. and then we went to Lauberge. People thought their ESPN clothes were a costume.....

For what it's worth ESPN Gameday is nice, but is better on TV. A good percentage is taped and you spend hours baking in the heat and trying to hear footage on large monitors.
ESPN Gameday is built for small schools that get excited about being on TV. LSU is beyond that and saves it for Tiger Stadium.

OP, if you want some serious camera time, go out to the gameday set on Thursday and Friday prior to the Saturday festivities. They record College Football Live earlier in the day, between noon and 3, and normally not many folks are out there. I got on the entire show back in 07 when it came for Va Tech and Florida and did the same thing last year when it came for Bama. But you really arent missing much on Saturday.

I went to LSU V Bama in 05 and probably ever time they have been to LSU since. It's nothing special. Get by the railings throughout if you wanna be on tv. I'll prolly not go anymore since it's 3 hours. I didn't like when they changed it to 2 hours much less 3

We went to CGD down in Austin for UTx-Tx Tech back in 2009. Got there around 8am and pretty quick we were up front. We had a spot between Lee and Kirk so we were on camera a ton, and it was the episode they ran the piece on TC McCartney's dad having played for Miles and the trip he took to Washington with LSU.
After the piece was over, the crowd was still quiet before Chris Fowler started talking and I yelled "GO TIGERS" as loud as I could and the crowd went nuts. I recorded it on my DVR and you could hear me loud and clear
