I honestly haven't followed this series. What has caused people to laugh it off?
I saw Thayer Evans name was attached to it so I wouldn't be surprised if it was total junk.

Some of the players quoted in the stories say they were taken out of context or were misquoted.
The players who made these allegations in the story are disgruntled former players who other players have said have no character and would do something like this to soil others' good names.
Just a lot of BS from what I understand. It's he said she said with no real facts or proof.
You would think ESPN would be all over this because they love this controversial stuff... but they aren't because even they know it is BS.

I'll say this: in today's age of Internet and social media fame, attention whores are always looking for a way to get their 15 mins. If there were truth to a story like this, you'd expect players you'd never heard of to be coming out of the woodwork throwing their name in, giving exclusive interviews.
