They called it "Big Boy Football" in 2011. Les used phrases like "asserting our will on the field" when asked about the Offense. LSU's opponents all knew what was coming and it took two tries before Bama finally shut down LSU's most predictable squad of all time.

And now we Tiger fans bear witness to the perfect storm. A group of individual players who have come together to form the perfect I-Form.

Of coarse there is no such thing as perfection but for our purpose here, the term will do just fine.

An OL that can can push the LOS forward as well as pass block, pick up blitzes and has quick(relatively speaking) pulling guards? CHECK

Big, tough and fearless QB? CHECK

A tandem of receivers who are productive enough to force the back seven to respect the passing game on every single down? BIG CHECK

TE's who can block in jumbo sets and still be passing threats? There might not be one guy who does it all but I feel good about the TEs going forward even though they still have a lot to prove.

RBs? Oh yeah, the deepest stable full of proven thoroughbreds in the nation.

A hard nosed coach who isn't afraid to use this formation even when the toughest defenses in the nation think that they know what is coming? CHECK

Of coarse, I've saved the best for last. My favorite position to watch in the ground and pound game that the I-form absolutely needs to be able to showcase before the offense can claim to be playing "Big Boy Football"... The FullBack!

Who else in the NCAA could possibly equal the LSU tigers at the FB position over the last ten years? J Hester, S Jordan, Big Quinn, amd J.C. (The Happy Bearded Nightmare)! The success of the I-form depends greatly on this position being far better than good, they need to be elite... dominant if you prefer. It's easy to see why guys like me love the I-form when you pay attention to J.C. charging thru the trenches and punishing multiple defenders in ways that the term "pancake" just doesn't quiet do justice.

And behold, my fellow fanatics... We have two of them now! Mr. Rogers would have moved out of dodge if he had Neighbors like this! In the years between J.C. and Quinn, we saw what happens when an I-form had featured a decent but not elite FB. Now we have fresh legs at that position to go along with the RBs that they block for!

The perfect I-Form in 2013? CHECK

Most teams don't have one dominate fullback. LSU has two triple threat fullbacks (block, running, pass catching). Neighbors and Copeland for the win!

Why dumb? Isn't this the strongest looking group of players for the I-form that we've had in the BCS era? Doesn't the fact that we finally have two dominant receivers and a QB greatly add to the formation's overall effectiveness?
