I need re

commendations for a duck hunt for my son, 8 years old, as he is insane with ducks. I just got him a youth model pump 20 ga, he has a shite ton of calls and is pretty good at em. The Haydel boys on two diff occasions have either taught him or were impressed by him.

all I want to accomplish is getting him on a duck or dove hunt somewhere in south la.

any recommendations?

You in Nola?

They opened up Bayou Sauvage for youth hunts.

LINK with Info

You can also look at LDWF youth lottery hunts. I know some of them go unused on the farther away locations.

This, just north of South Farm. They feed the ducks. No other hunting that area after the couple days of youth hunts. I would almost give my right nut to hunt one season there.

Plenty of youth hunt opportunities across the state if you are willing to drive:
White Lake
Lacassine
Cameron prairie
Sherburne North Farm; best one I've made

Not sure about the North La Wma's. shot my first duck on a lottery youth hunt when I was 9. Dad always applied for all the hunts and w got picked quite often. The sherburne north farm hunt is something special. Even if you missed the deadlines for this year the kids can hunt until I believe they are 17. Definitely worth the effort to mail an application in.

This. Place is stacked with grey's/teal, easy access, should be no problem getting a shot.
