Hey guys I have been a lurker on this board for a while but this is my first post and hope it to be meaningful and appreciate y'all's help if y'all could offer any.
A friend and I are interested in starting an American Outlaws chapter in New Orleans soon. We emailed the organization to ask them what path we should follow to get this club together and he emailed me a list of things that would need to get done in order to be recognized as a chapter. First thing we would have to do is to find a home bar. This is where suggestions would be valued. We mostly watch the games at Finns, but we have heard they have not been open to the idea in the past. We would also have to have a base of 25 active members to begin with but are hoping for many more.
Any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank y'all

There has been talk, but the Bayou Militia fan base is strong. I'll buy you a beer, bro.

Well then you're fricked because I bet the majority of soccer fans in NOLA would rather watch USMNT games at Finns rather than pay to watch them somewhere else.

From what I have heard Finns does not want American Outlaws there watching games. That could be rumor but I am not sure until I ask them. I would love to be able to watch all USMNT games at Finns

Fa real do...
LSUMJ runs AO Baton Rouge, I'm sure he'll see this thread at some point and give you some good advice.

I have not spoken with anyone regarding this, but I would assume that its not so much that they don't want them there, but that they get enough people in the door without the affiliation with AO. As far as I know finns shows every USMNT game as it is and its often too crowded to move in there for games anyway.

What about Bayou Beer Garden?

That place is awesome.
I went to Tracy's for the US/Mexico game and there was hardly anyone there but there were tons of TVs, good, food, beer, and lots of open seating. It definitely beat Finn's in terms of comfort. I hate having to stand.

Yeah when thinking of a place we would want it be somewhere comfortable where everyone could fit and enjoy it. Tracy's was a bar that has been brought up and I have visiting Bayou Beer Garden before and love that setup.

I feel like they would love to cash in on USA soccer. I feel like this is the place we should try for. It has a lot of room outside which is great.

I'd like a fellow AO chapter in Nola.

Its not that Stephen is against the AO, it is that the bayou militia was there first. Harry Pitts has discussed this with stephen at length. Best possible solution would be to combine the two.

Finns is always very crowded. I can see why they wouldn't feel the need to cater to a group like the AO when they are already filled to capacity. Has anyone watched a game at Bayou Beer Garden? Tracey's? Cooter Browns? What is the atmosphere like? Obviously nothing compares to Finns.

I have only watched at finns. I would join the AO if they got a New Orleans chapter

We have been in contact with the Chapter Chairman for the American Outlaws. He has laid out the steps for us. Basically, step one is find a bar that is a home base for all events. That is why it was so troubling to hear by one of our close friends that Finns wasn't open to the idea in the past. That's where we go to watch all of the USMNT and EPL games. I understand that Finns doesn't "need" the AO's and already has the Bayou Militia, but it is a huge let down considering how perfect of a soccer bar it is.
The other two main bars we were considering (Bayou Beer Garden and Tracey's) have already been mentioned in this thread. The problem is that we have never experienced a USMNT match at either of these bars.
