I did a search but I need a little more specific information.

My father and step mother are going to Vegas next week. They have never been. The trip is work related so daytime dining options are not needed. They will be there from this Sunday until next Sunday and are staying at the Mandalay Bay.

Price is not a concern. They would like to do at least one or two very nice dinners and the rest can be anything.

For the nice dinners, sushi or steak house recommendations would be appreciated...or anything you think might be a dining experience they could not get here in South Louisiana.

They will have a rental car but probably don't want to drive too far.

TIA.

Thanks. I'd like to email it to them today.

Also, the Michael Jackson Cirque du Soleil show is in the Mandalay Bay right now. Do y'all think that's something they would enjoy? They are in their late 60's.

Mandalay Bay kinda sucked. I saw the LOVE cirque shoe. Might be better for their age. Restaurants are everywhere. I'm not a huge Vegas person so cannot really help.

drink lots of water because you'll dehydrate.

Lindo Michoacan.

Awesome Mexican and I guarantee you can't get anything like it in BR.

Tao, Tao, and more Tao.

Just got back from there again this weekend. It's always my favorite meal of the trip.

*Tao is in the Venetian - just read about the rental car - just tell them to take a cab - Vegas is the last place I'd want to drive even sober, and particularly if I'm drinking.

Cut. In the Palazo (Venetian)
Went 2 weeks ago. By far the best steakhouse experience my friends and I have ever had. Everything about it was worth every penny. I'd eat there every day if I could.

Koi (sushi) was in Planet Hollywood. I wanted to go but never made it. Heard good things about it.

Also wanted to do Mon Ami Gabi at Paris.

Look in the restaurant without menu prices thread, there is a recommendation for one of the most bad assed French chefs in the worlds place.

If they don't want to leave MB and keep it casual, Burger Bar is a solid option though I prefer Holstiens at The Cosmopolitan over it.

For steak, Prime at The Bellagio is top notch. I'd recommend a late reservation at Prime. Before, go to Mandarin Bar at Mandarin Oriental for some pre-dinner cocktails. It provides a good view of the strip from the 20th floor.

R2R's rec of Cut is good too if you're around The Venetian.

If they get a players card at MB, they can earn points on non-gaming spend at MGM owned properties. With zero gambling, it takes $1000 to get to the 2nd tier. It's pretty easy to do in a week's time with two people.

I stick to MGM properties and The Cosmo as I have upgraded status at both. I can answer almost any question about their properties.

Carmine's - Family style Italian in Caesars. It's amazing and the portions are ridiculous.

LOVE @ The Mirage is a great show, seen it twice. I actually liked it better the 2nd time. Zarkana @ The Aria is a really good show too if they're not into The Beatles. The acrobatics in both are amazing, very talented performers. I want to see KA next time I'm out there.

They'd get just about the same view at "Mix" at the Mandalay Bay.

A few favorite Vegas fine dining restaurants: Joel Robuchon, Alize(the view at sunset is top notch), Bartolotta, SW Steakhouse.

Word of advise: have them spend as little time as possible at Mandalay bay.

As for as sushi.... I'm not your guy.

Do your parents like Thai food? If so, then Lotus of Siam is a must. Another method of finding dining experiences your parents might want to try is to look for restaurants that feature famous chefs. Most of the famous chefs in America have venues in Las Vegas. They could try a Wolfgang Puck or Thomas Keller restaurant out if they desire.

I know you will laugh but ceasers dumped 7 million into their new restaurant/buffet. USA today voted it best buffet in the world

It's suppose to have 500 items and 7 kitchens. Most is cooked to order. Looked unreal. It's like $50 but I heard its worth it
