That's awesome. I think it's safe to say that kid won't be a drug dealer later in life.

Dad needs to teach the boy to wait for an ethical shot.

I would never dream of taking a shot such as that.

It would save me an arrow, to be honest. I'd try my damnest in that situation to get all three of them in one.

I stacked three of them up at Josey's club in Waverly one morning years back with my alt 6 Auto loader. They had a coonass up with Richard's bunch hunting Tensas that had never killed a deer before. Josey didn't hunt that morning and neither did the fella that never killed a deer. I came back with deer feet galore and the coonasses cooked everything but the feet that weekend. The rookie deer hunter was decked in orange from head to toe at 3am the next morning when we were trying to go to bed. That was a weekend for the ages with that bunch.

The father should be ashamed. He needs to teach his kid to take the ethical shot and that wasn't it.

We've got enough dumb fricks running around giving hunters a bad name.

Good for the kid. He will never forget that experience with his dad and that's what it is all about, IMO. He also has permanent video of the shot.
Based on their comments reviewing the shot, I don't think they knew the second killed deer was there. I think they thought there were only two deer eating the corn.

We've also got enough dumb fricks running around telling me how to raise my children.

Well that's like, your opinion, man.

I don't fault the father at all. Now, I wouldn't post the damn video on youtube, just like I wouldn't post photos of my children killing their first bird which may happen to be a robin. Let kids kill stuff, within reason. Keep it safe. Putting too many restrictions on hunting makes children lose interest.

A whole lot of improbable circumstances came together there...

Good for him...

Was it the most ethical shot? Probably not, but he's a young man and the father hopefully used it as a teaching/learning opportunity.

That's true. I believe it's obvious that the intention was not to hit the second doe.

So would you let him shoot at a doe with a person standing next to it not expecting any pass through?
