Hilliard who played at Oklahoma State in 2003-06.

“Here’s my thoughts on that,” Hilliard said. “It’s a bunch of players who either couldn’t get on the field or got kicked off the team within one or two years of (coach Mike Gundy) being there. Everybody I’ve talked to, guys who’ve been all-conference and All-American, say they’ve never gotten anything. So these are guys who, problem players, claiming they got money and all the all-conference and All-American players are coming out saying they haven’t gotten anything, which includes me. So take it for what it’s worth.”

nice one. SI is desperate and will not survive. They are dead to me and to most, and this will bury them with the rest. Bye Bye, SI

the problem is the general public is dumb and will believe whatever they read on ESPN/SI

Les Miles should be pretty pissed about this garbage

Mad Dog Russo said there is no way SI would publish this if it wasn't 100% on point. He said "believe what you read" because George Dorhmann won a Pulitzer 10 years ago.

yes I hate the way the "journalists" ban together on this,
SVP said some shite to the fact that regardless if people lie you must take it into account, and how he is not a lawyer but does not see how lying discredits the person etc some shite like that.

Dont think this makes Miles look as good as some of you seem to think it does

Hilliard seems to be saying that the problem players were tolerated by Miles. Gundy was the one to get rid of them. Miles has done that here with RP, TM

How did you possibly get that from what he said. The coach part was added by the reporter and doesn't fit

I work with a guy who has stopped by my office the past couple of days and just says "man, this story just keeps getting worse and worse." Today, he even went so far as to tell me that he thinks this will lead to either Miles resigning, or more likely being fired.

I tried to point out the inconsistencies of the story but he wasn't having any of it. Although he did tell me that during the early to mid-90s, when he was a student at UK, he worked in the Western Union office at one of the Lexington Kroger and every week Jamal Mashburn, and other UK basketball players, would come in to pick up moneygrams.

This was well known that Gundy kicked many players off of the team. The consensus reason was that they were bad character guys.

Well, since Miles was already the coach in 2003, only Gundy could gave been the coach who the player saw doing those things "within two or three years of getting there"

No way anyone on here will believe Miles recruited those type of players

or he was talking about the actual players getting to OSU. The quote reads fine without the addition

quote:

“It’s a bunch of players who either couldn’t get on the field or got kicked off the team within one or two years of being there

which is exactly what Miles and others have said

He kicked both off the team. Pretty quickly too. They never even made it past a sophomore season.

No other school would have even kicked off Tyrann for what he did. Miles deserves a ton of credit.
