SUCK IT THAYER

quote:

In Tuesday's SI report, Carter said he graduated from OSU with a degree in education. George Dorhmann, one of two SI reporters who reported the stories, also said on The Doug Gottlieb Show Tuesday that "Fait' (Carter) has two degrees from Oklahoma State, spoke on the record, recorded. I have no reason to believe he lied. And he's certainly not disgruntled."

Carter didn't have two degrees. Carter attended OSU from 2000-05 but never graduated at all from the school, according to the university's registrar office.

Carter also told SI that he and Bell were in the same classes and got A's and then had the same instructor again in 2004 but both got F's, Carter said.

"I'd guess that there was pressure (on the instructor) to give us those A's when we were playing, but not when we weren't," Carter told SI.

However, Bell wasn't at Oklahoma State in 2004. He withdrew from school after the 2003 fall semester, according to his OSU transcript that he provided to ESPN.

So when can Les expect the apology for all of the bashing of his reputation over the last month? First he was bashed for reinstating Jeremy Hill, and all of the talking heads were appalled that Les would play him against TCU, now they are piling on to this SI "investigation".

All I care about is that the Yahoo! article is true and Mark at the NCAA will cause the downfall of Bama or the NCAA.

Sports Illustrated is losing all kinds of credibility over this shite, and I love it.

Not a bit surprised. After Thayer Evans was outed last year with the TM7 piece, I knew this story was probably fabricated as well.

Saw a tweet this morning that 27 of the 30 kids who were mentioned in today's article for admitting to using weed did not finish their eligibity at OSU. Most were dismissed or flunked out.

How does 27 of 30 not finish school when all their grades were being changed.
SI should be embarrassed.

I wouldn't be sure. He may have just staked the reputation of his Pulitzer-winning colleague, so that shite may not fly with SI.

yeah, at a minimum Dorhmann won't ever want to work with Thayer again. and that might be plenty enough to get him shown the door at SI. He is already trying to wipe off that mess of lawsuit threats and such from the Tyrann Mathieu "story" last fall.

this will get fun to watch if ESPN sees (rightfully so) a chance to pounce on SI's credibility and keeps running more of these counter-stories.

in the meantime, I fully expect ESPN to ignore Flukergate.
