And of course, Okkervil River (but not because Will Scheff is an exceptional songwriter...only because I'm currently banging everyone in the band, including Lauren)

Typhoon is an awesome band. Check them out if you get out there early on Sunday. I may try to go then as I'm expecting people to sell their wristbands for no more than $40. Weather might suck though so we'll see.

And jeez, you losers need to go and start an IM thread on the OT or something. Leave it out of this thread.

Also, I saw The Wild Feathers during SXSW and remember thinking they were pretty good. They're not local (I think they are based in Nashville), but still worth checking out.

And yeah, wristbands are going to be stupid cheap this weekend. It IS supposed to rain Sat & Sun (90% chance, I believe), but you know how Austin is...that could mean 5 minutes of torrential downpour and then it's gorgeous for the rest of the day.

Yep. It's official.

LINK

It rained something like 12 hours straight. Supposed to get more today, I think. Totally sucks for people who got tickets through other outlets, though. I'm glad I was there on Friday. Aside from a 5 minute downpour, the weather was great.

Looks like they made the right decision. This wasn't even the lowest point of the park:

that was Bar12 - it got up to over 2 feet in the back corner. Some of the bars, the water picked up a full pallet of Imperial 16oz and moved it over 10ft downstream.

today was hell, dreading the next week, trying to pick up all our shite over the next week

Dude. That SUCKS. I had a bunch of friends bartending and they were all super stoked that today was cancelled.

I was hoping to run into you on Friday but we didn't do a whole lot of walking around...i stuck pretty close to the Artist Village because, duh, free drinks.

Saturday night we waited for a cab for 2 hours in the driving rain. It was pretty miserable but worth it.
